Base Class: Fighter
A lone fighter calling himself the black swordsman walks into a group of bandits. He is unfazed as they charge at him, slashing at him multiple times. He is the protagonist, he is better than them. He unsheathes his sword, the bandits falling one by one. A true beater, he's too good for everyone else. Everyone flocks to him, even though he is oblivious to their advances. Kirito is not a person, he is a way of life. Learn the path of both one-handed and dual wielding weapon mastery. Kirito is not just a person, he is a way of life.
Protagonist Swagger
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Persuasion. You're Kirito after all. You also have advantage when speaking to the gender of your attraction. You of course are not aware of this because you're Kirito and you are denser than a brick.
One-Handed Specialist
Starting at 3rd level, you have devoted your life to the way of Kirito. You only gain the following properties and the properties of this subclass if you aren’t wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield.
- When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a bonus to your armor class equal to your proficiency bonus.
- When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to your attack rolls (DnDbeyond will not factor this, please adjust manually on character sheet!)
- When you are wielding two weapons at the same time, you still gain the extra damage from the dueling fighting style.
- When you are wielding two weapons at the same time, each consecutive hit you land on your turn deals one additional damage cumulatively. I.e. First hit deals normal damage, second deals +1 bonus, third deals +2, fourth deals +3, and so forth.
- When you use your action surge ability, you regain your bonus action as well.
Bonus Fighting Style
When you have reached 7th level, you have learned to either maximize your one-handed capabilities or improve your duel-wielding capabilities. You gain either the dueling or two-weapon fighting styles.
Dueling
When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon.
Two-Weapon Fighting
When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.
I Fight For My Waifu(s)
At 7th level, you have acquired the ability to harness the will of Kirito, and channel his protagonist powers into the world and fighting for his friends, family, and harem members. When an ally within your line of sight is reduced to 0 hit points or dies, you gain advantage on all attack rolls until the end of your next turn.
You can use this feature once, and regain all expended uses on a short or long rest.
Improved Two-Weapon Fighting
Starting at 10th level you have begun to learn the method of rapid attacks utilized by Kirito's around the world. When you use the two-weapon fighting ability you may make two attacks with your bonus action, rather than one. If you have the two-weapon fighting style you can add your ability modifier to the damage of both attacks.
Protagonist Deflection
At 15th level, you have learned some of the hidden techniques of Kirito. These techniques include deflecting ranged attacks and blows that would normally claim your life.
- You gain one additional reaction a round.
- When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you can use your reaction to deflect the projectile when you are hit by a ranged attack (magical or otherwise). You can reduce the damage by 1d10 + your strength or dexterity modifier + your fighter level. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses on a short or long rest.
- When you are wielding two weapons at the same time, you can use your reaction to deflect a mortal blow. If an attack or effect would reduce you to 0 hit points or instantly kill you, you are instead reduced to 1 hit point. You can use this feature once, and regain all expended uses on a long rest.
Starburst Stream
Starting at 18th level, you have mastered the way of Kirito. It is culminated in your ability to unleash over 16 attacks within 6 seconds. You can use your action surge ability more than once on the same turn. Additionally, you can now make three attacks with your bonus action when two-weapon fighting.
