Base Class: Monk
Runemaker monks use stones scribed with ki-focusing runes to attack their enemies from afar.
Runemaker
At 3rd level, you can use a bonus action to inscribe a number of small stones or pebbles with Ki-channeling runes up to your wisdom modifier. You can use your runestones to make a ranged attack, extending your ki outside of your body. The stone has a range of 60 feet. On a hit, the target takes bludgeoning damage equal to your Martial Arts die plus your wisdom modifier plus your proficiency bonus. Hit or miss, the runes then fade on the stone.
Magic Runes
Starting at level 6, your Runestones count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Also at level 6, you have learned how to use new runes for both attack and defense purposes. When you inscribe new Runestones, you can use extra ki points to change the damage dealt by the Runestones. Additionally, on a bonus action, you can use your ki points to give you or your allies resistance to certain elements for a round.
Rune of the Icebringer: You can you use 1 additional ki point to change the damage of your Runestones to Cold Damage.
Rune of the Scorched Soul: You can you use 1 additional ki point to change the damage of your Runestones to Fire Damage.
Rune of the Alchemist: You can you use 3 additional ki points to change the damage of your Runestones to Acid Damage.
Rune of the Roaring Clouds: You can you use 5 additional ki points to change the damage of your Runestones to Thunder Damage.
Rune of the Stormlord: You can you use 5 additional ki points to change the damage of your Runestones to Lightning Damage.
Rune of the Holy Sun: You can you use 7 additional ki points to change the damage of your Runestones to Radiant Damage.
Rune of the Cosmos: You can you use 9 additional ki points to change the damage of your Runestones to Force Damage.
Rune of the Projected Soul
By 11th level, you have learned how to channel your soul through your fists through complex runes. Your unarmed attack range increases by 5 feet, and you can use your Magic Rune ability on your unarmed attacks
Everlasting Runes
Starting at 17th level, you learn how to write lasting runes that can affect larger objects. You can take an hour of work and apply your runes to any object that can be written on in some way. Runes made in this way can last until the object deteriorates or is destroyed. You can have up to twice your wisdom modifier of lasting runes active at one time. You can dispell a rune made in this way with an action, as long as you are in the same plane as the object on which the rune is placed. These runes do not count against the number of Runestones you can have active at a time as described in the Runemaker ability.
