Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have become the target of your patron's obsessive adoration. Being ever in their sights, never again shall you be truly alone. The terms of your pact are simple simple: entertain your patron's complex, or at least tolerate it.

Obsessed One's Traits

Your patron has a profound supernatural effect on your everyday life, perhaps seeking to socially isolate you. Choose one Obsessed One trait or determine it randomly using the Obsessed One Trait table.

1d8 Obsessed One Trait
1 You hear laughter or giggling when you depart from someone
2 You have trouble recalling peoples' faces and distinguishing them from one another
3 You can't fall asleep if you are within 10 feet of someone else
4 You never see other people in your dreams, other than your patron
5 Sometimes when looking at depictions of people, you hallucinate them as your patron for a split second
6 From time to time, you lose the ability to properly verbally communicate, or understand what people are saying verbally
7 Food is more flavourful when you are alone, and near tasteless when you are with others
8 Intimidating someone gives you an addicting rush of euphoria

In addition, when you develop a relationship your patron doesn't approve of, you may experience a punishment ranging anything from a light headache to suffocation, depending on the extent of the relationship and your patron's disapproval.

Obsessive Nature

The exact nature of your patron's obsession, however, can take various forms. Choose one Obsessive Nature or determine it randomly using the Obsessive Nature table.

1d8 Result
1 You are their star pupil. They see you as a student and want to teach you their eldritch knowledge. Though their methods are harsh, they believe it is the most effective way.
2 You are a work of art to them. You might be their muse. Perhaps you notice an elegant drawing of you on your map one day, or a doll of your likeness left in your backpack.
3 They are romantically interested in you. You sometimes awaken to letters by your side written in unknown strange languages, and scented with perfume.
4 They see you as their own child. They might raise you on an ideal of tough love, or believe that mixing with others will spoil your development.
5 You are alien to them. They find your differences fascinating, yet you are such a different existence that they might not fully realise they are hurting you. They may view you like an experiment, something to be discerned, as if by dissection.
6 They believe you are destined for greatness that exceeds their own. To them, you are their patron. They think so highly of you that they never acknowledge any weaknesses you have, and do not believe that anything they do might be able to harm you.
7 They have a sadistic attitude towards you. Your life is a tragedy, and that is their favourite kind of story. They take joy in causing your suffering, but may not tolerate it when it comes from sources other than themselves.
8 They are extremely honest in their relationship with you. Even if you were to challenge them on all their shortcomings with how they treat you, they might merely nod, content that you are powerless to stop them.

Personal Space

Starting at 1st level, your patron keeps you away from nuisances. You can move up to half your speed as a bonus action upon reducing a hostile creature to 0 hit points. You are yanked backwards, as if by a giant invisible hand. You must end your turn further away from the creature than when you activated the feature.

Selfish Sanctuary

Starting at 6th level, you can cast sanctuary on yourself without expending a spell slot a number of times equal to you proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses of this feature when you finish a short or long rest. When you cast this way, a spectral figure of your patron appears and hugs you tight. It is just tight enough to be uncomfortable, but not painful.

For My Eyes Only

Beginning at 10th level, your patron attempts to shield you from your enemies' sight as you strike them, as if you vanish from their vision for a moment. When you deal damage to a creature, you are invisible to that creature until the start of your next turn.

Possessive Patron

Starting at 14th level, you gain the ability to be partially possessed by your patron for 1 minute as an action. Your voice changes to that of your patron's, if they have one, and your mouth stretches into an unnaturally wide grin. While possessed in this way, if a creature ends its turn within 30 feet of you, you may cast a cantrip against it as a reaction. The cantrip must be a spell attack, and must only target that creature. The possession ends early if you are charmed or if your turn starts and you didn't make an attack using this feature since your last turn. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
