Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians who walk the path of the Leaden Fist treat weapons as a superfluous tool; the only weapon they need is their pure, unadulterated rage. Followers of this path can use their unending fury to dish out severe punishment with their fists comparable to only the mightiest of weapons, and the combination of their anger with brutal conditioning allows them to shrug off the mightiest of blows.

A Leaden Fist Barbarian may have trained as a monk, only to be expelled from their monastery due to their unyielding anger, or might have been an experienced tavern-brawler before the call to adventure brought them to a higher cause. Either way, Leaden Fist Barbarians shred through their enemies with a terrifying efficiency.

Rip and Tear

Your unarmed attacks count as weapon attacks for the purposes of Barbarian class features, and you are proficient with them. Additionally, the damage you deal with unarmed attacks increases to 1d6. This damage increases to 1d10 at 6th level, and 2d6 at 14th level.

Additionally, while raging, you gain the following benefits as long as you are unarmed:

  • You may make an additional unarmed strike as a bonus action whenever you take the attack action on your turn.
  • Once on each of your turns, when you hit a creature with an attack, you may attempt to grapple that creature as a component of the attack.
  • When you kill an enemy you are grappling, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Barbarian level. These temporary hitpoints subside after 1 minute, or when your rage ends.

Paragon of Rage

The power of your hatred imbues your form with energy, making your unarmed strikes count as magical weapons for the purpose of overcoming resistances.

Additionally, while you have temporary hitpoints from the Rip and Tear feature, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened, and on all saving throws from allied effects.
  • You gain resistance to the damage type of your choice. You may change this resistance whenever you gain new temporary hitpoints from the Rip and Tear feature.
  • You gain a +1 bonus to AC. This bonus increases to +2 at 14th level.

You count as one size larger for the purposes of grappling creatures. At 14th level this changes to two sizes larger.

Until it is Done

Your relentless fury drives you ever onward into battle. You gain the following benefits when you kill an enemy you are grappling on your turn, and may use each once per turn.

  • You may move up to 10 feet in a straight line towards an enemy without expending movement.
  • You may add your rage damage bonus to your next attack role and grapple check.
  • The next time you attempt to grapple a creature, that creature has disadvantage on Strength (athletics) checks to oppose the grapple.

Knee Deep in the Dead

At 14th level, new temporary hitpoints gained from Rip and Tear add to the total value, which may not exceed three times your Constitution Modifier + your Proficiency bonus. These last until your rage ends.

You have advantage on attacks made against foes you are grappling, and your unarmed attacks score a critical hit on a 19 or a 20.
