Base Class: Barbarian
Most barbarian tribes have need of druids or other medicinal magics to heal themselves after battle. Over time, a few tribes have learned to combine their druidic magic with their lust for battle, allowing them to use their magic on the battlefield to both aid allies and destroy foes.
Shaman Spellcasting
When you reach 3rd Level and choose this path, your primal rage begins to fuel a magical aptitude within you. You are now able to cast and concentrate on spells while raging, and your rage will not end early if you cast a spell. See chapter 10 for the general rules of spellcasting, and chapter 11 for the druid spell list.
Cantrips. You learn two cantrips of your choice from the druid spell list. You learn an additional cantrip of your choice at 8th level, and again at 16th.
Spell slots. The Battleshaman Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st and level or higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
Spells known of 1st-level and higher. You know three 1st level druid spells of your choice. The Spells Known column of the Battleshaman Spellcasting table shows when you learn more druid spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the druid spells you know with another spell of your choice from the druid spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
Spellcasting Ability. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your druid spells. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your intelligence modifier when setting the savingthrow DC for a druid spell you cast and when when making an attack roll with one..
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.
Spellcasting Focus. You can use a druidic focus as a spellcasting focus, or while raging you may use your weapon as a spellcasting focus for your spells.

Shaman's Ferocity
Beginning at 6th level, you may choose to reroll any number of dice from one of your spells and you must use the new rolls. You may use this feature once per short rest. The number of uses increases to two per short rest at level 12, and three per short rest at level 18.
Battlecaster
Beginning at 10th level, when you use your action to cast a spell while raging, you may make a single weapon attack as a bonus action.
Call of the Elements
Starting at 14th level, you can choose to call upon the elements when you rage. When you do so, your body is engulfed in fire, stone, and ice, dealing no damage to you, but granting the following benefits for the duration:
- You gain resistance to fire, cold, and lightning damage.
- Your melee attacks deal an additional 1d12 damage. This damage can be fire, cold, or lightning. You get to choose the damage type.
- You may change the damage type of your damaging spells to fire, cold, or lightning.
- You are unaffected by difficult terrain.

Posted Feb 26, 2021Just a couple of notes from me:
The concept is obviously a spellcasting barbarian. I always thought the idea would be fun to play with.
The "Battlecaster" ability is already seen with the Eldrich Knight. I am aware of this. But in my honest opinion the ability for the Eldrich Knight is frankly, a joke. It shouldn't be the capstone ability for the class. It's just bizzare to me that you can only cast a cantrip with it. My version is much more on par with what I expected.
Finally I chose half-caster rather than 1/3 caster mostly because I wanted the shaman to be able to cast Reincarnate at high levels. I feel like it just fit with the theme. Plus why not :D
Please bare with me, I am not 100% familiar with how to build a class on DnDBeyond, so this is a work in progress. I will make changes as I go along.
