Base Class: Monk
A Stone Weaver monk is a manipulator of earth and terrain, controlling the battlefield and functioning as a stalwart lynchpin of an adventuring party. They use their ki and the earth around them as a resource to cast spells. Stone Weavers come from a vast array of traditions, teachings, and cultures. While all are fundamentally the same, different disciplines lead to different specialties and skills. Ki for Stone Weavers flows from the base of the spine; it addresses survival and is hindered by fear.
Disciple of Earth: Earth Bending
When you take this Monastic tradition at 3rd level you gain the ability to manipulate the earth around you. Pick 2 cantrips from the following list: Thaumaturgy, Mold Earth, Magic Stone, and Mage Hand.
A Stone Weaver also gains 2 Stone Weaver disciplines of their choice. One additional Stone Weaver discipline can be learned at each of 6th, 9th, 11th, 14th, and 17th level. While new tiers are unlocked at these levels, you are not restricted to picking from the highest available tier.
Wall The Body
When you pick this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in flails, mauls, morningstars, warhammers, light and medium armor, and shields. These weapons are considered Monk weapons for you. You can still benefit from Unarmored Defense while wielding a shield, but not while wearing armor. While wielding a shield, your unarmed bonus attack may still be made by a shield bash or kick and is mechanically unchanged.
Sturdy Foundation
At 6th level you are able to manipulate your chakra to better enhance your survival. You gain proficiency in Constitution saving throws.
Additionally at 6th level, Difficult terrain caused by loose earth or uneven terrain does not affect your movement.
Journeyman of Earth: Seismic Sense
At 11th level, you have access to Seismic Sense; while both you and another creature or object within 30 feet are on the ground, that creature does not benefit from stealth or invisibility. Use your passive perception to sense such creatures and threats while out of combat. A creature that is completely still has advantage in stealth checks to trick Seismic Sense. As long as the other creatures are taking physical actions aside from the hide action, including casting spells with somatic components, they’re considered moving; they don’t have to move from place to place for a creature with Seismic Sense to detect them.
Master of Earth: Shockwave
At 17th level, you can use your action to slam your fist into the ground, creating a massive shockwave. The shockwave has a radius of 90 feet centered on you. Whatever is within the radius becomes difficult terrain. Every creature in the radius must make a Constitution saving throw. Failure causes the creature to take 8d8 force damage and be knocked prone, and those who succeed take half damage and are not knocked prone. You can expend extra ki points to allow certain creatures to be unaffected by the shockwave at a cost of 1 ki point per creature, but the area still counts as difficult terrain for them. You can use this ability once per long rest.
Stone Weaver Disciplines
There are 5 tiers of Stone Weaver Disciplines, the more advanced of which have increasing level requirements. Your spellcasting modifier is Wisdom, and at least one free hand is required to cast any spell with somatic components. Stone Weaver Monks benefit from the ability to spontaneously cast any spell they have learned from their tier by spending the indicated number of ki points as long as there is earth or stone around as a material component, though any materials with a noted gold cost are still required. Any ability that allows a Stone Weaver to cast a spell does so at the minimum spell level for that spell, but they can increase the level of the spells they cast by spending 2 ki points per level above the base if the spell can be cast at higher levels. A Stone Weaver can only increase a spell’s level as indicated by the maximum spell level of the highest tier of Stone Weaver Discipline reached.
