Soul Gem Sorcerer

To lessen your load and allow you to channel your magic easily, a portion of your soul has been locked in a precious stone. Most likely you were once a wild magic sorcerer, brimming with such powerful magic that the world changed subtly and dangerously around you. However, it is also possible that you were once a warlock who siphoned too much power from their patron or a monk or mystic with an abundance of ki or psi respectively. Should you embrace the soul stone, you may think of it as a boon in harnessing your power, but you may also think of it as a shackle to be destroyed.

Soul Stone

At the 1st level, you have the soul stone to which your soul was bound. This stone grants you benefits corresponding to the type of base gem housing your soul and acts as an arcane focus when you hold it. You may use a bonus action to instantly call your soul stone back to your hand. If your soul stone is ever destroyed, it reappears in your hand after you complete a long rest.

Note: You cannot start with an upgraded gem, you must upgrade a gem through the use of the Soul Upgrade feature. 

Amethyst

You gain a +1 bonus to saving throws

Amethyst +2

You gain a +2 bonus to saving throws

Amethyst +3

You gain a +3 bonus to saving throws

Diamond

You gain a +1 bonus to AC

Diamond +2

You gain a +2 bonus to AC

Diamond +3

You gain a +3 bonus to AC

Emerald

You gain a +1 bonus to ability checks

Emerald +2

You gain a +2 bonus to ability checks

Emerald +3

You gain a +3 bonus to ability checks

Ruby

You gain a +1 bonus to spell attacks and your spell save DC

Ruby +2

You gain a +2 bonus to spell attacks and your spell save DC

Ruby +3

You gain a +3 bonus to spell attacks and your spell save DC

Sapphire

You may use this stone as a spellcasting focus as long as you wear it visibly

Soul Upgrade

Over a long or short rest, you may have your soul stone consume a magic item with a benefit stronger than its current benefit to gain it.

For Example:

• An Amythest could consume a Staff of Power or a Blackstaff to turn into an Amythest +2
• A Diamond could consume a Shield +2 or a Shield +3 for a Diamond +2/+3
• An Emerald can't consume anything, ask your DM to homebrew something
• A Ruby could consume a Wand of the War Mage +2/+3 to turn into a Ruby +2/+3
• You can't upgrade a Sapphire Gem

Soul Over Capacity

WARNING: These gems have great power and your soul can only hold so much; the cost of which is an attunement slot as such this sub-class only has 2 attunement slots.

Soul Searching

At the 6th level, you learn how to use your emotions to twist the portion of your power trapped in the soul stone and the soul stone itself. Your soul stone now confers two benefits. Your soul stone changes into two gems set or wrapped around one another. Over a short or long rest, you may choose to change which benefits your soul stone confers.

Soul Patching

At the 14th level, you gain the ability to sequester another small portion of your soul temporarily to enhance the ability of your soul stone. You may activate another benefit from your soul stone for 8 hours as a bonus action by spending 3 sorcery points. While this benefit is active, you may change it to another benefit as a bonus action. Your soul stone glows faintly in a color corresponding to the gem you choose. Additionally, you may choose a 3rd gem type to add to your soul stone. 

Soul Infinity

At the 18th level, you are able to temporarily release your sequestered bit of soul by destroying your soul gem as an action. When you do so, you regain 7 sorcery points and hit points equal to half of your maximum hit points. Additionally, the next leveled spell you cast does not require any components.

Furthermore, at level 20, you gain the ability to fuse all 5 gems into the Infinity Gem. The Infinity Gem grants you the combination of all gems added to it. Your Infinity Gem is not locked to certain upgrades anymore. You can now sacrifice any magic items and gain the full benefits of its power. Flight, power, fear, magic, resistance, and more is now within your grasp. A legend has been told of a God in the distant past. He too was a Soul Gem Sorcerer once he sacrificed 100 Unique Magical Items to his Infinity Gem he ascended into Godhood and took the divine plane by storm.
