Base Class: Sorcerer
So the original storm sorcerer is bit lac luster this will help making a more blaster mage centric class. If you like hoping around and fighting up close then you can stay with the original subclass. This one focuses on more thunder power.
Wind Speaker
The arcane magic you command is infused with elemental air. You can speak, read, and write Primordial. Knowing this language allows you to understand and be understood by those who speak its dialects: Aquan, Auran, Ignan, and Terran.
Storms imbrace
Starting at 1st level, whenever you start casting a sorcerer spell, stormy magic erupts from the target area of the spell or the target them selves. This eruption causes creatures of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of the location to take lightning or thunder damage (choose each time this ability activates) equal to half your sorcerer level. Dex save of 10+your Charisma modifier+ spell level to take 0 damage.
An example of this is cast if you cast haste on an ally they will reradiate out your choice of thunder or lightning damage from their location. If you hit three enemies with magic missal it will trigger this effect three times and if all targets are with in range they all have to make saving throws.
Storm's Tempo
At 6th level, you gain proficiency with the Drum and you gain the ability to subtly control the weather around you.
If it is raining, you can use an action to cause the rain to stop falling in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on you. You can end this effect as a bonus action. You can also us the drum to call forth a small down pore in a desert or increase the storms wraith slightly.
If it is windy, you can use a bonus action each round to choose the direction that the wind blows in a 100-foot-radius sphere centered on you. The wind blows in that direction until the end of your next turn. This feature doesn't alter the speed of the wind
The Oncoming Storm
At 6th level, you gain resistance to lightning and thunder damage. In addition, whenever you start casting a spell that deals lightning or thunder damage, so long as it is not a cantrip you gain a storm charge. The next spell you cast will be treated as being cast one spell slot higher for each storm charge you have until you cast a spell at the highest level. After you have cast a spell at the highest level or a spell that dose not deal lightning or thunder damage the storm charge resets to 0. note that even if a first level spell is cast as a first level spell it still uses a first level spell slot and can be twin spelled for 1 sorcery point. At 9th level you can spend 1 sorcery point to keep your storm count at its current level even if you cast a spell your maximum spell level or cast a non-thunder, lightning damage spell.
Each time you cast a storm spell you get a charge. You can't cast a spell higher than your highest spell slot at 7th level you can only cast a spell of 4th level. If you go a turn with out casting a spell you also loos a charge. casting a storm cantrip while you have max charge dose not cause you to reset your storm charge. Your passive feature that deals thunder or lightening damage dose not count as a spell dealing damage. If a creature evades the damage of the spell you cast you will still gain a charge.
Storm's Fury
Storm's Fury
Starting at 14th level, when you are hit by a melee attack, you can use your reaction to deal lightning damage to the attacker. The damage equals your sorcerer level. The attacker must also make a Strength saving throw against your sorcerer spell save DC. On a failed save, the attacker is pushed in a straight line up to 20 feet away from you. You also gain the air walk ability so long as you are wearing light or no armor.
Wind Soul
you gain immunity to lightning and thunder damage.
You also gain a magical flying speed of 60 feet. As an action, you can reduce your flying speed to 30 feet for 1 hour and choose a number of creatures within 30 feet of you equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. The chosen creatures gain a magical flying speed of 30 feet for 1 hour. Once you reduce your flying speed in this way, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
