Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards following the College of Dance tend to be good and neutral aligned. Bards of Dance are generally jolly folk, eager to spice up an evening or entertain an audience. They are as proficient when performing a dance as they are when playing an instrument. Their ability to perform and inspire is rarely paralleled.

Graceful Stride

Starting when you pick this Bardic College at 3rd level, Bardic Inspiration can be used by dancing instead of or alongside music and song. Targets must be able to see you if you forgo playing a musical instrument or singing for your Bardic Inspiration. Your bardic inspiration dice have a new way of being spent: As a bonus action, a creature who has a bardic inspiration die from you may spend it to move up to half its speed. When a creature moves this way, opportunity attack rolls against it have disadvantage. You gain proficiency in the Perform and Acrobatics skills, and double your proficiency bonus for these skills. If you already have either or both proficiencies, you gain one or two (respectively) different proficiencies of your choice. Additionally, you may use ornate bracers, bracelets or a similar apparel as your spellcasting focus for your Bard spells. In order to cast spells with this focus, you engage in a dance of any particular style.

Pep to the Step

At 3rd level, you take half damage from opportunity attacks. As an action, you can tumble. When you tumble, you gain the following benefits for the rest of your turn:

  • You gain the benefits of taking the Dash and Disengage actions.
  • You gain a climbing speed equal to your current speed.
  • You take half damage from falling.

For you, tumbling consists of a surge of agile dancing, letting you move around the battlefield with ease.

Invigorating Presence

Starting at 6th level, your presence radiates positive energy and good vibes. You add Cure Wounds, Healing Word and Mass Healing Word to your list of spells known. Whenever you use Bardic Inspiration, the affected creature restores hit points equal to two of your Bardic Inspiration dice + Your Charisma Modifier.

Additionally, you gain a new way to use Song of Rest. As a bonus action, you may soothe the wounds of up to 6 of your allies which can hear or see you, including yourself. You restore hit points equal to two of your Song of Rest dice + Your Charisma Modifier to every affected creature. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. You may use Song of Rest's original functionality as normal.

Also at 6th level, you gain additional uses of Bardic Inspiration equal to half your proficiency bonus, rounded down.

Da Capo

Starting at 14th level, you surround yourself in an eerie aura of music which follows your dancing perfectly. You may spend Bardic Inspiration dice as an action or bonus action to instantly cast a spell without consuming a spell slot. You do not need to have the spell prepared.

  • One use: 3rd-level spell or lower
  • Two uses: 4th-level spell
  • Three uses: 5th-level spell
  •  You may not create spell slots of levels higher than 5th.

Alternatively, you may transform spell slots into additional uses of Bardic Inspiration as an action or bonus action. You may not have more than your maximum amount of Bardic Inspiration uses at once.

  • Two 1st or 2nd-level spells: 1 Use
  • One 3rd or 4th-level spell: 1 Use
  • One 5th or 6th-level spell: 2 Uses
  • One 7th or higher level spell: 4 Uses
