The Tortles of Orvello, the living island, have long acted as guardians and wardens to the magical repository on the island. Suvivors of the ancient summoner wars they saw the devestation and suffering of the average person at the hands of power-hungry magic users. The Tortles feared that if magic ever be allowed to run amuck again the world would be lost to the chaos of the unbridled weave and that it would be the humble villager that would suffer the most, defenceless against uncontrolled magic. Channeling their innner strength and natural connection to the living island that played host to the great arcane library, they began training themselves to control and defuse a wide variety of arcane abilities.

Now the Order of Orvello accepts any person willing to dedicate themselves to the defense of those without magic. Often an unnoticed presence at centres of magical research and in the laboraties of cutting edge arcane inventors, followers of the Way of Orvello do not seek to master or banish magic, they do not judge or condemn any school of magic; they wait and watch for the moment where magic begins to take control.

Deflect Magic

Your intirial training into the nature of magic has embolded your deflect missiles to extend to magical attacks against you. You may now use teh feature against ranged spell attacks against you, capturing the magic and re-directing the weave.

Interrupt the Weave

At 6th level, you've discovered the complex relationship between personal energy and the arcane weave. As a result you can interrupt a caster's actions and possibly shake thier spell in the process. If you hit a creature with an unarmed attack, you can spend 2 ki points to force them to make a Charisma saving throw the next time they cast a spell. On a failed save, the spell is not cast though the energy required is expended, losing the spell slot.

Tomes of the Learned Masters

Beginning at 6th level, you’ve undertaken even further investigation and research into the nature of the arcane. Your education have given you access to even deeper knowledge contained in the great magical libraries of the world. You learn one language of your choice, and you gain expertise with a skill or tool of your choice.

You gain an additional language and an additional skill or tool expertise at 11th and 17th level.

Arcane Sentinel

Starting at 11th level, you’ve honed your skills and have a deeper understanding of the weave and how i can be manuipulated by casters. You gain Advantage on all Saving Throws against magical attacks and effects.

As a reaction you can spend 1 ki point to extend this advantage to an ally within 30 feet that you can see, giving them advantage against the next saving throw against a magical effect as you direct them into the best way to defend against it.

You gain an additional language and an additional skill or tool expertise.

Antimagic Mastery

Upon reaching 17th level, You intimately understand the weave and the skill required to manipulate and ultimately unpick magic.You gain the following abilities.

As an action you can spend 3 ki points to generate a field akin to casting Antimagic Field at 8th level without the need for material components. You gain advantage to Concentration checks whilst this is active, otherwise all other spell conditions apply.

As a reaction you can spend 3 ki points to pull apart the forming magic of a caster akin to casting Counterspell at 8th Level without the need for material components.
