Monk
Base Class: Monk

This tradition excels at finding and removing those who use or abuse magic.

Mage Bane

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to manipulate a creature's ki, blocking its ability to use some of its faculties. When you hit another creature with a melee weapon attack, you may spend 2 ki points and force the target to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, choose one of the effects below, which the target suffers for 1 minute. The target may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect early on a success. You can only have one effect active at a time per creature, though you can affect multiple creatures at the same time.

Clouded Sight. The target is blinded. For the duration, it cannot cast spells that require line of sight.

Stilled Tongue. The target can not speak or vocalize in any manner. For the duration, it can not cast any spells that require verbal components.

Mangled Hand. The target's hands seize up. For the duration, it can not cast spells that require somatic components and has disadvantage on checks that require the use of its hands.

A lesser restoration or similar magic ends the effect early.

Witchfinder

At 3rd level, you are practiced in finding those who would use and abuse magic. You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill. If you are already proficient in this skill, you can double your proficiency bonus to any Arcana checks you make.

Deflect Magic

Starting at 6th level, you can use your reaction to deflect or catch spells when you are the target of a spell. When you do so, roll a d20 and add your Wisdom modifier. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a success, you catch the creature's spell, which fails and has no effect.

If you catch the spell, you can attempt to deflect it back at the caster. You either make a ranged spell attack or force the creature to make a saving throw, whichever the spell calls for. If the creature makes a saving throw, it's against your ki save DC. If the creature fails the saving throw, or if your attack hits, the creature is the new target of the spell.

Erase Magic

At 6th level, you learn how to touch magic with your ki and erase its effects. You learn the spell Dispel Magic, and can cast it as an action by spending 3 ki points. When cast this way, the spell's range becomes touch.

Absorb Magic

By 11th level, you have mastered the art of disrupting enemy spells. If a creature you can see casts a spell that does not target you, you can spend 3 ki points to increase the range of your deflect spells ability to 60 feet. When you use this ability in this way, you can not deflect the spell back at the caster.

Additionally, whenever you use your deflect spells ability and catch the spell, you can attempt to convert its power into ki for yourself. You may make a Wisdom saving throw against the creature's spell save DC. On a success, you regain ki points equal to half the spell's level, rounded down.

Destroy Magic

At 17th level, you can channel your ki to unravel the Weave around you. You gain access to the spell Antimagic Field. As an action, you can expend 5 ki points to cast it.
