School of Spirit Binding

These mages bind spirits into service and have them take shape as small animals. Unlike most familiars however, these improved versions allow the mages to bind more powerful spirits and imbue them with power.

Familiar Swarm

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, you add the find familiar and flock of familiars spells to your spellbook. You always have these spells prepared and they don't count against the number of spells you can have prepared. When you cast flock of familiars, you can cast it as an action.

Greater Familiar

Beginning at 2nd level, your familiars add your level to their maximum hit points and you can communicate with telepathically from up to 10 miles away.

Familiar Combat

Starting at 6th level, you can cast any spell through your familiar as if you were in its space. You can do so a number of times equal to your PB. You regain all uses on a long rest. You can also spend your action to allow a number of familiars up to your PB to use the attack action on their turn. Your familiars use your spell attack bonus for attack rolls and add your Intelligence modifier to damage rolls.

Greater Swarm of Familiars

Beginning at 10th level, you aren't limited to one familiar by the find familiar spell and the number of summoned familiars you can gain from flock of familiars isn't reduced by the number of familiars you have. The material components for the find familiar spell now cost only 2 gp.

Greater Spirit Binding

Starting at 14th level, when you cast the find familiar spell, you can spend 500 gp on material components instead of 2 gp and spend 1 hour instead of 1 minute. You can summon any creature of a CR of 3 or less. This creature loses any spellcasting or innate spellcasting features it has. This spell gains two 1st level spell slots and one 2nd level spell slot and can use it to cast spells from your spellbook. It regains any spent slots on a long rest. It also learns one cantrip you know.
