Blood Hunter
Base Class: Blood Hunter

In the medical field, triage is a term to refer to giving medical care to those who need it most. The Order of Necessary Triage sprung about when an order of clerics delved into the unholy magic of Haemomancy in order to save the most possible people possible, by force if necessary.

Triage Initiate

Your education in medical clergy has led you to learn of the method of triage as a way to stabilize teammates.

You gain a Triage Die equal to 1d4 at 3rd level, 1d8 at 7th level, and 1d12 at 11th level. This is used for various Triage Skills.

You also gain access to a small number of Cleric spells (Magic Initiate- Cleric) and the Healer feat.

Basic Triage

When first initiated into the Order of Necessary Triage, students' loved ones are gored in front of them, in varying degrees of severity. The student is then expected to learn the rune of triage to save them all- or let them die trying.

As a rookie triageé, you have learned the ability to use Haemomancy to pass wounds between willing creatures. Move 1d4 hit points between willing creatures a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest. This increases to 1d8 at level 7 and 1d12 at level 11.

Forced Triage

As your second lesson as a triageé is how to take life by force. Sometimes patients aren't willing to be helpful, and the easiest way to solve this issue is just to take it from them.

As a reaction, deal necrotic damage equal to a roll on your triage die , and heal that damage on a willing party a number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency.

Disseminating Triage

After working on your medical Haemomancy you refine your technique. Using the fundamental principles behind basic triage, you can split the damage between every willing participant present. Great for pretty strong attacks, not great for really strong attacks.

At 11th level, uses increase to 2 times per day, and at 15th level unwilling creatures can be included in this effect if they fail a Strength saving throw.

Bloody Triage

The higher principles of triage have been imparted upon you. The concept of triage as a weapon of harm is kept hidden knowledge, but is an extremely lethal art known to level armies and decimate wild hordes.
At 11th level, you may force all enemies you have damaged with Forced Triage in this combat encounter to share damage once per day. At 15th level, the creatures afflicted by Bloody Triage all take the full damage of the attacks.

Chaotic Triage

Your studies have led you to a forbidden technique that was banned from academic circles long ago. This ability is a heavily taxing surgery that swaps the life essence of two individuals completely, but the donor is unknown and it generally did more harm than good in a surgery room. On the battlefield, however...

As an action, completely swap the health of a willing creature with the health of another creature, chosen randomly. If the hit points of the donor exceed the total hit points of the recipient has, these are gained as temporary hit points. You gain 1 point of exhaustion.

Sublime Triage

The final, most powerful skill a triageé can learn. Haemomancy grows stronger the more that is sacrificed for it, and putting your life on the line makes it the strongest it's ever been.

As a reaction, you can instantly reduce your health to 0 and spend your hit points in a number of ways:

  • Spend a death save to heal a creature within 60 feet an amount equal to or less than your current health
  • Spend a death save to deal damage to a creature within 60 feet of you an amount equal to or less than your current health
  • Spend all 3 death saves to immediately destroy a creature within 60 feet of you. You may not recover from this death with revivify. Using true resurrection or wish  to revive from this effect also resurrects the victim of this skill.
