Base Class: Artificer
Magic items hold their magical potential in a state of stasis, only activating under certain circumstances. The first extractors studied this phenomenon and created ways to stretch, improve, and even harness that potential into new magical effects. Being a very new specialization, many other inventors see arcanists as madmen, actively destroying their own creations to produce effects that make them more like a wizard than an artificer.
Tool Proficiency
When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with one type of artisan’s tools of your choice.
Extractor Spells
Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Extractor Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Alter Spell
Starting at 3rd level, you can alter the spells you create from magical items. Choose a Metamagic option from the sorcerer's Metamagic feature. Whenever you cast a spell using one of your infusions as the spellcasting focus, you may apply the chosen Metamagic option to that spell.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier, after which you regain all uses of this feature after finishing a long rest. Whenever you gain a level in this class, you may change the Metamagic option you choose by choosing another from the sorcerer's Metamagic feature.
Additionally, you may use this feature on spells you cast from magic items.
Arcane Armament
At 5th level, whenever you cast a cantrip with one of your infusions, you may also make a weapon attack with a magical weapon, as you propel the attack with the residual energy from the item.
Arcanic Siphon
At 9th level, you learn the secrets of extracting power from magic items. As an action, you may destroy one non-artifact, non-infusion, non-consumable(potion or scroll) magic item you are holding to regain all spell slots of a certain level and lower based on its rarity(see chart below). If the spell slots you would regain are of a level you currently do not have, you regain spell slots of the highest level you do have. After using this feature, you must finish a long rest before doing so again.
For example, if a 10th level artificer has run out of spell slots, they may destroy either a Sun Blade or a Tome of Clear Thought to regain all their spell slots or they may destroy a Wand of Magic Missle to regain all spell slots of 2nd level or lower.

Magic Expulsion
At 15th level, you can greatly expand the magical potential from the destruction of magic items. You learn a spell of 7th level or lower from the list below. Whenever you finish a long rest, you may exchange the spell you learned from this feature with another from the list of the same level or lower. When you reach 17th level, you may choose 8th level spells, and at 19th level, you may choose 9th level spells.
As an action, you may destroy a number of your infused items that are on your person to cast the spell you learned from this feature without any components. The number of infusions required is determined by the level of the spell you are casting, as shown on the Casting Cost table.
The spell is cast as part of this action, which means its effects happen immediately even if its normal casting time would be longer. After using this feature, you cannot use this feature again until you finish a long rest and the effects of the cast spell have ended.
