Druid
Base Class: Druid

Druids of the Circle of Aesthetic Growth live to nurture the beauty of nature. They seek to collect and grow plants for the world to enjoy. They thrive when tending to gardens and forests. They bolster the naturally growing landscape by protecting them while also creating grand and perfectly manicured gardens.

These druids believe that nature is meant to be enjoyed by all and never abused. While their gardens tend to seem full and overgrown, they believe that pruning is necessary for plants to grow to their full potential. They all have their own view on what makes a perfect garden and have playful rivalries with each other.

Druids of this circle have a deep connection to plants be it tree, shrub, or flower. Circle of Aesthetic Growth druids can defy death momentarily by possessing bodies with extreme and sudden plant growth. They believe that this death transformation is a beautiful last moment in one's life. They often animate themselves on their deathbeds to truly become one with nature. The most powerful of druids will be able to remain in their garden forever even after death.

Circle Spells

2nd-level Circle of Aesthetic Growth feature

Your experience as a gardener and connection to plant life grants you access to specific spells. At 2nd level, you learn the light cantrip.

At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of Aesthetic Growth Spells table. Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Aura of the Garden

2nd-level Circle of Aesthetic Growth feature

You are surrounded by an invisible, psychic pollen aura that is harmless until you unleash it on a creature nearby. This aura is described as a pleasant and warm feeling but is ultimately draining. When a creature you can see moves into a space within 10 feet of you or starts its turn there, you can use your reaction to deal 1d4 necrotic damage to that creature unless it succeeds on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. The psychic damage increases to 1d6 at 6th level, 1d8 at 10th level, and 1d10 at 14th level.

Wild and Beautiful Growth

3rd-level Circle of Aesthetic Growth feature
You gain the ability to channel magic into your aura. As an action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to awaken wild and beautiful growth, rather than transforming into a beast form, and you gain 4 temporary hit points for each level you have in this class. While this feature is active, you gain the following benefits:

  • When you deal your Aura of the Garden damage, roll the damage die a second time and add it to the total.
  • Your melee weapon attacks deal an extra 1d6 psychic damage to any target they hit.

These benefits last for 10 minutes, until you lose all these temporary hit points, or until you use your Wild Shape again.

RULE TIP: TEMPORARY HIT POINTS DON'T STACK

If you have temporary hit points and receive more of them, you don’t add them together, unless a rule says you can. Instead, you decide which temporary hit points to keep. For more information on temporary hit points, see chapter 9 of the Player’s Handbook.

Invasive Growth

6th-level Circle of Aesthetic Growth feature
Your aura gains the ability to cause plant growth within a corpse and animate it. If a beast or a humanoid that is Small or Medium dies within 10 feet of you, you can use your reaction to animate it, causing it to stand up immediately with 6 hit points. The creature uses the needle blight stat block in the Monster Manual. It remains animate for 1 hour, after which time it collapses and dies. It retains no damage from the plant life that animated it.

In combat, the needle blight's turn comes immediately after yours. It obeys your mental commands, and the only action it can take is the Attack action, making one melee or ranged attack.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest or half on a short rest.

Petals of the Cherry Blossom

10th-level Circle of Aesthetic Growth feature
You gain the ability to conjure flower petals in an area that you can see. As a bonus action while your Symbiotic Entity feature is active, you can summon flower petals up to 30 feet away, where they swirl in a 10-foot cube for 1 minute. The petals disappear early if you use this feature again, if you dismiss them as a bonus action, or if your Beautiful and Wild Growth feature is no longer active.

Whenever a creature moves into the cube or starts its turn there, that creature takes your Aura of the Garden damage, unless the creature succeeds on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. A creature can take this damage no more than once per turn.

While the storm of petals persists, you can’t use your Aura of the Garden reaction.

Resistance of the Ancient Oaks

14th-level Circle of Aesthetic Growth feature

The aura in your body alters you: you can’t be blinded, deafened, frightened, or poisoned, and any critical hit against you counts as a normal hit instead, unless you’re incapacitated.

Strong Roots

14th-level Circle of Aesthetic Growth feature

You can spend half of your total hit points to infuse a seed with magical energy. Once planted, a magnificent plant quickly and powerfully sprouts and grows to full maturity. This plant lives as long as you do and can be destroyed by violent and unnatural means. This seed may only be planted in a garden that you have tended to for one year. Only one of these plants can exist at a time. If your plant is ever destroyed, the ritual may be performed again to infuse another seed with magic.

In addition to creating this magical plant, you may return to it. Once per long rest, you can perform an hour long ritual to teleport to the base of the plant as long as you both exist on the same plane. This ritual consumes a vial filled from water in your garden. To teleport other individuals, they most also participate in the ritual. An additional vial must be used for each additional individual being teleported.
