Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Way of the Cat's Claw is a style of fighting that uses cat-like agility and flexibility to its advantage in combat. You use quick jabs with claws or claw-like nails and quick kicks to combat any foe that may cross your path. Training in conditions similar to a performer in acrobatics, you can move your body with finesse making your attacks look well choreographed while hitting hard in the process.

Someone who inherits this Way of the Cat's Claw style most often enjoys putting on a show while in battle while ripping people to shreds.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Performance and Acrobatics if you don’t already have them. Your martial arts technique mixes combat training with the flexibility and agility of an acrobat.

Cat's Claw Technique

At 3rd level, your unique fighting style lets you use slashing damage instead of bludgeoning damage as part of your Flurry of Blows.

Sharpened Claws

Your proficiency with using the Way of the Cat's Claw fighting style has given you the ability to do more damage against enemies you attack. You gain 1d6 in bonus slashing damage when using your claws.

Starting at 6th level, you gain 1d6 extra damage on every claw attack you make. This scales by 1d6 at 11th level and 17th level going to a max of 3d6.

Impervious Dodge

At 11th level, if you spend 2 ki points, you can dodge up to 3 attacks if not impeded by any of the listed status effects.

If you are not: Blinded, Charmed, Frightened, Grappled, Incipassitated, Paralyzed, Petrified, Restrained, Stunned, or Unconscious, you can use the Impervious Dodge ability.

Cat's got Your Tongue

At 17th level, if you spend 3 ki points, you gain the ability to send multiple slashing attacks up to 5 feet in every direction. When you use Cat's got Your Tongue, you double your damage output, and every enemy you hit must:

  • It must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be hit with an additional 10 slashing damage.
  • It must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or skip a turn in order to recover from the attack.
