Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

As a Sage of the Suburbs, your arcane knowledge comes from compulsory K-12 education and a bachelors degree at the local state university. Fight on Kobolds! You use your magical abilities and connection with the working middle class to make life more convenient and defend the status quo.

Library Card

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, you can use your library card to check out one spell at a time that is always prepared and doesn't count against your number of prepared spells. At 2nd level, the checked out spell's level cannot exceed 1st level.

At Higher Levels: the maximum spell level increases as your wizard level increases, 2nd (5th level), 3rd (8th level), 4th (11th level).

Nosey Neighbor

Starting at 2nd level when you select this school, the gold and time you must spend to copy spells with the "social", "charmed", " scrying" tag into your spellbook is halved.

Ex: Friends, Charm Person, etc.

Public Transportation

Starting at 6th level, you can use your action to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space that you can see. Alternatively, you can choose a space within range that is occupied by a Small or Medium creature. If that creature is willing, you both teleport, swapping places.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest or you cast a conjuration spell of 1st level or higher.

Arcane Culdesac

At 8th level, you add the Brandon's Middle Class Housing spell to your spellbook if it is not there already. When you cast Brandon's Middle Class Housing, you can create up to 4 extradimensional houses when you cast this spell. The entrances to these dwellings are arranged in a semi-circular, culdesac-like pattern.

Whenever you create a house using this spell, it has one of the following additional features:

  • A 10ft x 20ft swimming pool in the back yard.
  • A garage stocked with useable Painter’s supplies, Tinker’s tools, and Carpenter's tools.
  • One of the bedrooms has a rad racecar bed, taking a long rest in this bed removes 2 points of exhaustion, instead of 1.
  • The kitchen contains a large collection of tupperware containers that will allow you to care 4 containers of leftovers for one day after leaving the house before spoiling. Eating these leftovers restores 1d4 health.

Wizard of the People

Starting at 14th level, you gain advantage on any Charisma checks made against any humanoid creature.

There Goes the Neighborhood...

Starting at 14th level, you can increase the power of your simpler spells. When you cast a wizard spell of 1st through 5th level that deals damage, you can deal maximum damage with that spell.

Every time you do so, you must make a Charisma saving throw of DC 10. On a failed save you take 2d12 necrotic damage for each level of the spell, immediately after you cast it. This damage ignores resistance and immunity. Each time you use this feature again before finishing a long rest, the the save DC increases by +3, resetting back to DC 10 upon completing a long rest.
