Druid
Base Class: Druid

A woman in ancient leathers stands in a small circle of stones, holding a staff to the sky. A small child traces fingers on the cracks in the land beneath, feeling the power of the ground below. Magic exists as a force in the world and pools in certain areas. Some call these holy sites, or places of great magic. The Druids of the Circle of Ley Lines understand that heavy magic flows out of these points and between them, and uses this natural magic to fuel their abilities.

Arcane Understanding

When you join this circle at 2nd level, the Ley Lines begin mixing with your natural magic. You learn two cantrips and one first-level spell with the ritual tag from the Wizard spell list. These Wizard spells are always prepared and count as Druid spells for you.

Line Opening

At 2nd level, you learn how to tap into the Ley Lines present in each plane, opening them to utilize their deep magic. As an action, you can open a Ley Line, which is a 30 ft. sphere centered on you. The sphere lasts for one minute or until you are incapacitated, at which point it ends.

While the Ley Line is open, overwhelming magic exudes from you. When you cast a spell that deals damage, you can change that damage type to Force. Additionally, any allies that have 0 HP and are incapacitated can not be targeted by ranged weapons, as the Ley Line's magical torrent buffets away attacks.

Redacted

Due to DnDBeyond's technical issues, Druid homebrew requires a 3rd level option, despite only one such class having said level option.

Cloistered Magic

At 6th level, when you open a Ley Line, you absorb some of the magic to boost your spells. While in the Ley Line's magical torrent, you have a +1 to your spell attack bonus and +1 to your spell save DC.

Arcanist's Shaping

At 10th level, your understanding of the untapped powers of the Ley Lines allow you to shape the magic more efficiently. While in the Ley Line's sphere, you can expend shape the magical spell energy you expend. When you expend a use of Wild Shape, instead of shifting form, you shift the spell's energy, allowing you two cast two spells in one turn, one as an action and one as a bonus action. The Ley Line fuels your power, allowing you to ignore the the limits of traditionally casting only a spell of 1st level or higher and a cantrip.

Additionally, whenever you finish a long rest, choose three spells form the Wizard spell list. They must be spells for which you have spell slots, and can not be higher than 5th level. These spells last until you finish a long rest. While they are prepared for you, they do not count against your Druid spells known and count as Druid spells for you.

Magic Runoff

At 14th level, the Ley Lines torrential magic is a force that has altered your magic on a fundamental level. As a bonus action, you can connect yourself the magic running in the ground and freely manipulate your own spell energy. Choose a number of spell slots to sacrifice of any level and add the total number together. You can then recover as many spell slots as available equal to the number of slots sacrificed.

For example, you could sacrifice on 9th level spell to recover a 4th and 5th level slots, or four 1st levels, one 2nd level, and one 3rd level. Once you use this feature, you can not use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
