Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Enhanced soul, through rigorous training and meditation, enhance their very soul to incredible strength. They then enhance their physical body with their soul, amplifying present defensive and offensive abilities, punishing their foes with powerful hits while shrugging off blows that would level many other Monk classes. Many monks that simply don't have the mental capacity to sift through many abilities and choose which to use at what times choose this class, as it forgoes many of the complexities other classes have to offer in place of raw offensive and defensive capabilities.

Enhanced Technique

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you choose an aspect of yourself you want your soul to amplify, between offense and defense, and gain a related feature. This ability, though spurring from your soul itself, often affects your body physically as well. Your muscles may bulge in size when bolstering your offense, and your skin may toughen to shell-like hardness for defense.

Defense

You concentrate your soul to toughen your body, taking powerful hits with much less effect to your body. You can spend a ki point as a bonus action to grant yourself a resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage for 3 minutes.

Offense

You concentrate your soul to strengthen your body, doling out incredibly powerful hits. When using your Flurry of Blows, use the next highest dice listed in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table when rolling for damage (e.g. at level 3, use a d6 in place of a d4). At levels 17 and higher, you use a d12 for this ability.

Soul Aspect

At 6th level, your soul is powerful enough to manifest outside of your body, defending and attacking depending on the enhancement type you choose. You can choose the same type you selected at 3rd level or a different one.

Defense

Aspects of your soul manifest to take the brunt of attacks on your command. In response to a physical attack that would deal acid, bludgeoning, cold, fire, lightning, piercing, or slashing, after determining whether or not the attack would hit but before the damage is rolled, you can take a reaction to spend a ki point to only take half the damage rolled. If you have the effects of the defensive type enhanced technique active, you take no damage from bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage when you use this ability.

Offense

Aspects of your soul manifest as large, spectral copies of your arms, distended from your body but matching the movement of your arms and attacking in relation to your own attacks when you use Flurry of Blows. Your reach for unarmed attacks extends to 10 feet when using Flurry of Blows.

Soul Sight

Beginning at 11th level, you can use your soul to amplify your preceptive abilities with the help of a specialized meditation. You can spend 1 ki point at the end of a short or long rest to gain the effects of the True Seeing spell for 1 minute.

Perfection of Soul

At 17th level, you have mastered the art of your soul and its relation to your body, and can merge your soul and body together perfectly for incredible offensive and defensive abilities. You can spend 3 ki points to, for an hour, give yourself resistance to all damage except psychic. For the duration, roll a d12 for your unarmed attack damage. If you chose the offensive type enhanced technique at 3rd level, your unarmed strikes when using Flurry of Blows deal an extra 4 damage on top of this.
