Base Class: Monk
The Way of the Tome is a serious dedication, and devotees often self-isolate themselves to dedicate themselves to their duties. Tome monks may often only enter society to find new texts and buy calligraphy sets and ink. They learn to combine ki with latent arcane energy of texts to cast spells.
Spell casting
Starting when you choose this tradition at the third level, you can irreversibly convert ki points into a spell slot of the same level as number of ki points spent by using a bonus action. You know spells you have inscribed upon your body, and are able to transfer spells from spell books and scrolls onto your body by using a calligraphy set. Tranfering spells costs 3 hours, and 75 gp per spell level. You learn no cantrips from this class.
Arcane instinct
You are able to harness your inner ki to compensate for a lack of materials. All spells that you know requiring a material component no longer require a material component for you.
Arcane conversion
Beginning at the 11th level, you may use the pain from your inscribed spells to focus on your surroundings and reabsorb ki points. You can use an action to take 1d8 force damage, and gain 1d4 ki points. You cannot regain more ki points than hitpoints you lost.
Spell Inscription
Starting at the 17th level, you can inscribe a spell you know into any non-magical item for 50 gp per level over a long rest. Anyone you teach to use the spell will be able to use the item's spell. Once the spell is used, the item reverts to it's normal non-magical state.
