Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

Clerics of this domain are devout to the ideas of self-discipline, alms-giving, and not partaking of many mortal desires. As part of their practices, they will choose to go without food, drink, and other niceties and take only what they need to sustain themselves.

Clerics belonging to this domain will generally worship deities tied to agriculture, famine, rebirth, or self-sacrifice such as Incabulous, Ilmater, Laogzed, Lathander, Loviatar, or Torm.

Master of Ceremonies

Starting when you choose this domain, when you cast a cleric spell as a ritual you can choose to regain a number of expended hit dice equal to the level of the spell. Once you do so, you cannot use this feature again until you complete a short or long rest.

Willful Fasting

Also at 1st level, once per day you can choose to enter (or continue) a period of fasting, immediately gaining one level of exhaustion. While you maintain levels of exhaustion (from any source) you gain the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.
  • When you use your one of your Channel Divinity options, roll a d20. On a roll of “20” you immediately regain a use of your Channel Divinity feature.
  • Once on each of your turns, you can deal additional radiant damage when you hit a creature with a weapon attack or damage it with a cleric spell. The damage dice for this ability are d4s and you can add a number equal to your current level of exhaustion.

The additional damage dice granted by this feature increases with levels in the cleric class. The dice become d6s at 6th level, d8s at 8th level, d10s at 14th level, and d12s at 17th level.

Channel Divinity: Nourishing Alms

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to feed and sustain others.

As an action you present your holy symbol choosing up to 5 creatures within 30 feet of you. Each creature targeted by this feature is nourished enough to sustain them for one day and are granted temporary hit points equal to half your cleric level (rounded down).

As part of using this channel divinity, you can use up to 10 GP worth of coins that you are holding or carrying as an optional component which is consumed. For every 1 GP worth of coins consumed the targets of this feature gain an additional 1 temporary hit point to the total granted by the channel divinity.

Sacrificial Offering

Beginning at 6th level, as part of a short rest you can perform a ritual to empower your spellcasting. You must use a creature which has been dead for no more than 24 hours as a component of the ritual, but its body is not consumed. Following completion of the short rest, the first time you cast a spell using a cleric spell slot, the spell is treated as being cast one level higher than the slot expended. If the creature used as part of the ritual has a challenge rating of 3 or higher, the spell is treated as being cast two levels higher than the slot expended.

If the creature used for the ritual is a construct, fiend, or undead, the ritual fails and grants no benefits. Following the short rest, the creature used as the component cannot be targeted by any spell or effect which would raise it from the dead or turn it undead for the next 24 hours, unless the Wish spell is used.

Once you use this feature you cannot do so again until you complete a long rest or until the next dawn, whichever occurs first.

Potent Spellcasting

Starting at 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with a cleric cantrip

Champion of Discipline

Your continued devotion to acts of self-discipline have brought about physical and spiritual change within you. At 17th level, you gain the following benefits:

  • Whenever you complete a long rest, you can remove up to two levels of exhaustion.
  • When you have six levels of exhaustion you do not die outright. Instead, you are treated as having two failed death saving throws until your level of exhaustion is reduced.
  • While concentrating on a cleric spell, you ignore the effects of exhaustion for the duration of the spell. This does not remove any of the levels of exhaustion that you have, and you still maintain the benefits of your Willful Fasting feature associated with those levels.
