Base Class: Monk
Monks who follow the Way of the Everlasting Flame respect the nature of flame, often going through literal trials by fire. Small scale tests of flesh versus conflagration may result in a few scars, but control of one's ki eventually allows such a monk to not only emerge unscathed, but also to ignite their own blazes. These monks channel inner sparks to augment their own abilities in combat, exploding into the fray like a living inferno to consume their foes.
Monastic Icons
3rd-level Way of the Everlasting Flame feature
Even in the monastic lifestyle, which eschews materialism and personal possessions, symbolism plays an important part in defining the identity of an order. Some monastic orders treat certain creatures with special regard either because the creature is tied to the order's history, or because it serves as an example of a quality the monks seek to emulate.
If your character's monastery had a special icon, you might wear a crude image of it somewhere inconspicuous on your clothing to serve as an identifying mark. Or perhaps your order's icon does not have a physical form, but is expressed through a gesture or a posture that you adopt, and which other monks might know how to interpret.

| 1 | Black Flame. The dark shape symbolizes your order's belief in destruction - that those who are wicked will perish, and by your hand if necessary. |
| 2 | Blue Flame. Your order carries this sigil as a representation of wisdom and knowledge, for their "controlled burn" of knowing precisely when and where to act keeps civilization flourishing. |
| 3 | Gold Flame. A symbol of rebirth, your order teaches that every defeat is a lesson, and one with spiritual harmony can rise up from the ashes again and again. |
| 4 | Green Flame. Just as a flame's time is limited, so too is yours; your order beliefs that you must shine brightly in the time you have, leaving a well storied legacy. |
| 5 | Red Flame. Your order teaches the power of passion - the willingness to suffer for what you love most, and the potential such willingness unlocks. |
| 6 | White Flame. The teachings of your order believe your path to be one most divine, purifying both the body and soul of imperfections with fiery acts of contrition. |
Master
3rd-level Way of the Everlasting Flame feature

Your master was the one most responsible for shaping your understanding of the martial arts and your attitude toward the world. What sort of person was your master, and how did your relationship with your master affect you?

|---|---|
| 1 | Your master was unseated from their original monastery, but toiled to achieve the end their banishment and regain their honor |
| 2 | Your master taught you the value of mercy, citing a time they were ostracized by a court of nobles for refusing to duel one of their number. |
| 3 | Your master was defined by their faith, which served as a weapon and armor, the equal of any mundane wargear. |
| 4 | Your master was self-taught, disciplined after an immolation gone wrong left them physically scarred but hardened to pain |
| 5 | Your master was your parent, who passed on what knowledge they could from harsh lessons learned from experience, all in the hopes that your life turns out better than theirs. |
| 6 | Your master was unparalleled in combat, though their interpersonal skills were nonexistent, and their temper volcanic. Aggressive and constantly aggravated, their only joy came from putting fools in their place. |
