Base Class: Blood Hunter (archived)
This expands to a variety of different professions. From cults to urban bounty hunters, there are a smattering of Mage Hunters with different goals.
Hunter's Quarry
When you are inducted into the Order of the Mage Hunter at 3rd level you gain new benefits. Your Hunter's Bane feature now also applies to Elementals and Dragons. You also gain proficiency of two of the following skills of your choice: Arcana, Investigation, Nature, History, Religion
Additionally, you may cast the Detect Magic spell as many times as your Intelligence Modifier, and regain all expended uses after a long rest.
Aggressive Maneuvers
By the time you have reached 7th level, your tactics with dealing with magical creature have become far more adept. You gain the Mage Slayer feat if you do not already have it. If you already have this feat you may select a different one. Additionally, when you make a damage roll against a creature included in your Hunter's Bane, you gain a bonus to that damage roll equal to half your proficiency bonus.
Spell Foiler
Beginning at 11th level, you have practiced how to interrupt and dismiss spells using your own brand of sanguine magic. You may cast the Counterspell and Dispel Magic once per long rest each. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability modifier for these spells, and when you make a check with these spells you made add your proficiency bonus to the check. Additionally, you may flair your internal toxic scars to further attempt to foil a spell's magic. You may cast the spells at a higher level than 3rd by suffering damage equal to your Crimson Rite die, and for each level you cast it higher, you suffer an extra Crimson Rite die. For example, if you cast Dispel Magic at 5th level, you suffer your Crimson Rite die twice. You may cast the spells at a maximum level of one third of your Blood Hunter level(rounded up).
Intensified Rite
When you reach 15th level, whenever your weapon bears a Crimson Rite, that Crimson Rite ignores resistance to its damage type, and treats immunity to its damage as resistance. Additionally, while your Crimson Rite is active, you have resistance to the damage type of your Rite. This can apply to multiple Rites.
Magician's Horror
Upon reaching 18th level, your knowledge of magic and how to counter and foil it has become mastered. You may now cast the Counterspell and Dispel Magic spells twice between long rests. You also gain advantage on all saving throws against magical effects.
