Base Class: Monk
The Order of the Peaceful Monk began as a purely pacifist religion. However their converts refused to fight for the local lords, who began attacking them. They developed many ways of fighting without actually killing, which only enraged the local lords. Eventually the kings armies were called in, but by then the Peaceful Monks had gained followers, reputation, and most importantly, combat skills. After a year long siege, the King himself came and offered a peace treaty with them if they agreed to establish monasteries on the violent frontier. They agreed and have become an important part of the defenses of several kingdoms.
Artful Dodger
You are so skilled at dodging that people trying to attack you mistakenly hit other people. Only applies when you are using unarmored defense.
To activate this, you must use your reaction upon being missed while dodging. Once you do so (including with that missed attack), until the beginning of your next turn, you are "Artful Dodging".
While Artful Dodging:
If anyone tries to hit you and misses with a melee attack, they must re-roll that exact same attack but instead targetting any person of your choice within range of their attack.
If anyone tries to hit you and misses with a ranged attack, they must re-roll that exact same attack but instead targetting any person of your choice within range a distance equal to your unarmored movement bonus from the Monk chart. (10-30 ft, depending on level)
Improved Unarmed Defense
At 6th level, your while you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 12 + your Dexterity modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
In addition, if anyone attacking you rolls a natural 1, they automatically hit themselves with that same attack.
Finally, if anyone attacking you rolls a natural 20 but misses because you are dodging, they automatically hit themselves with that same attack.
Teach Dodging
When you see an ally being attacked, you may spend your reaction to teach them how to dodge. It is not absolutely necessary to insult them while doing this, but it can not hurt.
Doing so requires you to spend a ki point and can communicate to them. If they can not hear you or can not move (grappled, restrained, stunned, etc.) this ability fails.
But if the ability succeeds, they are now dodging until the beginning of YOUR next round.
Note, they need not be able to see to benefit from this ability, but they must be able to communicate to them (speaking, telepathy, etc.)
Always Dodging
At 17th level, you are so good at dodging that you may do so without spending a ki point and it is now a free action, rather than a bonus action.
