Base Class: Barbarian
These are not so much the outsiders of the Emerald Kingdoms, as the term Yaban Hito can mean "outsiders, or aliens." Instead, these are the primal savages whose clans and families are not recognized as being within any of the Great Clans, or even the Minor Clans. Instead, these so-called savages refute the rule of the clans and the Imperial rule. As most of them are opposed to such rule, some become intentionally rebellious warlords who seek only to liberate their lands or their people from Imperial rule. They know the lands better than almost anyone, and their berserk warfare tactics make them extraordinary warriors that continually cause the local Samurai lords to hesitate in confronting them anywhere in the Realms they may be. The Yaban Hito are survivalists extraordinaire beyond that, able to eke out an existence effortlessly, living off of the land completely. They know the best routes through the Realms and they can move frighteningly freely across the world rapidly and steadfastly.
Once such a warlord gathers a trusted warband, the threat amplifies significantly, as these great warriors tremendously improve one another's speed and striking efficiency. Small insurrection cliques can despoil entire army divisions with minimal losses to their side, and then run the countryside faster than any pursuers could catch them. These "stick and move" tactics and their willingness to perform night raids cast them in a dishonorable light to the Samurai caste, but the Yaban Hito don't much care. They're warriors hellbent on upholding their own native cultures against the onslaught of imperialism, at their core.
Live from the Land
3rd level Yaban Hito feature
When you choose this Path at 3rd level, you develop an understanding of the need for sharp senses in the wilderness environments you frequent. You gain proficiency in Perception. Additionally, choose any two environments: Arctic, Coast, Desert, Forest, Grassland, Mountain, Swamp, Subterranean and Volcanic. You can survive so well in these environments that when you are in these types of environments, you may spend one hour finding wood or kindling, hunting game animals, gathering edible food, and collecting drinkable water. You return with a maximum of 3d6 servings of food and drinkable water, and enough wood for a bonfire to burn for 4 hours. You know the beast sign and natural warnings of other perils and environmental hazards, so you very rarely would ever upset or conflict with the natural plants and animals in your chosen environments while you search. Typically, you'll return safely with your arms full or a full backpack. Whenever you eat food and drink water you collected in your search during a short rest, you regain hit points equal to your Constitution modifier when you finish a short rest. You may perform this search once per short rest.
Also, you know how to hunt the game beasts, the predators, and interlopers on your land with terrifying ferocity. Your melee attack rolls against beasts and humanoids deal critical damage on a roll of 19 or 20.
Run the Land
6th level Yaban Hito feature
Your knowledge of the landscape, or all-around understanding of nature in general grants your allies incredible insights when traveling together. As an action, you choose a number of willing creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier. You and those creatures form your Traveling Group. Creatures in your Traveling Group add +10 to Speed and they also ignore nonmagical difficult terrain in the environments you chose for the Living from the Land feature. This feature lasts until you enter a new environment, finish a long rest, or use it again to choose new willing creatures.
Broaden Your Conquest
10th level Yaban Hito feature
Your knowledge of the world and instinct for nature becomes uncanny compared to most, and you refine your deadly weapon strikes to assault all foes with equal menace. Choose any seven environments: Arctic, Coast, Desert, Forest, Grassland, Mountain, Swamp, Subterranean and Volcanic. The benefits of your Live from the Land and Run the Land features can now be applied in any of the seven chosen environments.
Additionally, you now have mastered your weapons' usage to such a degree that all melee weapon attack rolls you make are treated as a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Lord of the Land
14th level Yaban Hito feature
You are now the penultimate primal warlord, capable of leading powerful insurrections against any organized army that are virtually unstoppable in their charging onslaught. In any environment chosen from the Broaden Your Conquest feature, you may use an action and choose a number of creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier. You and each of the chosen creatures become your War Group. All creatures in your War Group are immune to the restrained and stunned conditions and deal 1d6 bonus damage of their weapon's type once on each of their turns. These benefits last until you enter a new environment, finish a long rest, or you use this feature again to choose new creatures in your War Group.
