Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Tenants of the Oath of Protection

Protect. Above all, protect those who are unable to protect themselves. Offer your assistance where it is needed, without seeking glory or payment.

Compassion. Remember to be merciful. Extend this mercy even to your foes, but temper it with wisdom.

Hope. Shine the light of hope for all those who live in fear and despair. Let your courage, strength, and devotion inspire others.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Turn the Heartless. You utter ancient words that rebuke those that sacrifice others for their own gain. As an action, you present your holy symbol, and each creature within 30 feet that has made an attack against you or any creature under your protection, and can hear you, must made a WIS saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is turned for 1 minute or until it takes damage.

Vow of Protection. As a bonus action, you can utter a vow of protection for one of your allies or a creature you are protecting, that you can see within 30 feet of you. Then pick one creature that is hostile to the subject of your protection, and you gain advantage on attack rolls against this enemy for 1 minute.

Fighting Style: Protection

You gain the fighting style of Protection, but are not required to wield a shield to use it.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Devotion Spells

Aura of the Guardian

Starting at 7th level, you can shield your allies from harm at the cost of your own health. As a reaction, when an ally within 10 feet of you takes damage, you instead magically take that damage. This feature doesn’t transfer any other effects that might accompany the damage.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Soul of Protection

Starting at 15th level, the authority with which you speak your Vow of Protection gives you greater power over your enemy. When the enemy targeted by your Vow of Protection makes an attack, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature if it is in range.

Holy Protector

At 20th level, you become the ultimate protector. As an action, you can exude an aura of protection 30 ft. in diameter for 1 minute that grants the benefits of the Sanctuary spell to any allies or creatures under your protection within the aura.

Friendly creatures within the aura have temporary hit points equal to the Paladin’s spellcasting modifier, which refresh at the beginning of each creature’s turn.

When the aura is first activated, hostile creatures must make a WIS saving throw, and on a failed save must use their reaction to move their full speed away from the paladin.
