Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Oblivion approaches, and the gnawing inevitability of fate spawns madness in the minds who cannot fathom the nothingness the future inviolably guarantees. All things face entropy and destruction in their own time, but some forces at work in the universe seek to speed the process, to invoke utter devastation, and to bring on the end of all things as rapidly as possiible. For those mad soldiers who would seek to slay every life in the path, to ruin everything with their supernatural might, and destroy the world around them with ferocity of physical power, these murderous soldiers often become Obliviators, who sell their souls and sanity away for the increased ability to destroy the world more rapidly.

In Avalestra, the Obliviators herald the approach of the cosmic devourer, Oblivion the Annihilator. Although few have minds with sanity enough to have coherent conversations, the foot soldiers in the war for oblivion are those who essentially commited a suicide of personality, and Oblivion's touch on their minds is nothing if not a touch of destructive madness. These murderous warriors seek to ruin everything about the entire world as rapidly as they can, and those few of these who attain a rank of genuine power as an Obliviator give themselves over to absolute insanity in exchange for the incredible power they unleash.

Destroyer's Urge

3rd level Obliviator feature

At 3rd level when you choose this archetype, you begin to go slightly mad, but that insanity offers insights into the power of sheer Oblivion. You gain an Oblivion score. Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 HP or you totally destroy an object that had at least 10 HP, you gain an Oblivion point. Your maximum Oblivion score is equal to half your level, rounded down. When you finish a long rest, your Oblivion score resets to 0. You may spend Oblivion points for the following effects:
- Whenever you hit with a weapon attack, you may add 1d4 weapon damage to that damage roll for each point you spend.
- Whenever you get hit with a weapon attack, you may use your reaction to reduce the damage you would take by 1d4 for each point you spend.
- You may choose to suffer disadvantage on the next attack roll, save, or check you make for 1 Oblivion point.

Chaotic Tides

7th level Obliviator feature

At 7th level, your grasp of the wild tides of chaos allows you to turn situations that would be detrimental into situations that unpredictably become advantageous. Whenever you would suffer disadvantage on a roll, save or check, you may spend 2 Oblivion points to negate that disadvantage, and if you spend 3 Oblivion points, you can gain advantage on that roll, instead.

Patient Doom

10th level Obliviator feature

At 10th level, you learn to lash out with pure destructive power as a last gasp before losing consciousness. Whenever you would be dealt damage that reduces you to 0 hit points, you may use your reaction to deal the amount of damage that you received as necrotic damage to the creature that inflicted that damage on you. If this damage reduces that enemy to 0 hit points, you gain 3 Oblivion points and you have advantage on death saving throws until you recover or you die.

Oblivion's Dire Caress

15th level Oblviator feature

At 15th level, you are now most certainly insane, and you can inflict your insanity upon weak-willed attackers who would dare strike against you. When you receive damage from a weapon attack, you may use your reaction to cause that attacking creature to make a Charisma saving throw, DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. If they fail, you cast the effect of the Confusion spell on that creature. You do not need to maintain concentration on this effect, and the creature remains under this feature's effect until it successfully saves against it, for 1 minute or until incapacitated. You may use this feature once before you must finish a long rest or spend 4 Oblivion points to use it again.

Additionally, when a creature is under the effect of the Confusion effect of this feature, you share an insane and despiriting lingering madness. If you would suffer disadvantage on an attack roll, save, or check, you also cause a creature affected by this feature to suffer disadvantage on the next roll, save, or check they make by spending 1 Oblivion Point as you would make the roll with disadvantage. You may then use Oblivion Points to affect your roll with your Chaotic Tides feature, as normal.

Utter Oblivion

18th level Obliviator feature

When you reach 18th level in this class, you have learned to become an incarnate force of destruction, able to usher forth annihilation on a whim. You can now spend an action and different totals of Oblivion Points to cast certain spells, and when you cast spells using this feature, they do not consume a spell slot and they cannot be Counterspelled. When you spend 3 Oblivion Points and an action, you can cast Hunger of Hadar. When you spend 5 Oblivion Points and an action, you can cast Antilife Shell. When you spend 6 Oblivion Points and an action, you can cast Disintegrate. Your spellcasting ability for these spells is Charisma.

Additionally, whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you may immediately make an additional weapon attack roll against a creature within your weapon's range. If this extra attack reduces a creature to 0 hit points, you gain 1 bonus Oblivion Point, and you may attack again.
