Base Class: Fighter
The Yojimbo is a fighter who draws on an implacable fighting spirit to overcome enemies. A Yojimbo's resolve is nearly unbreakable, and the enemies in a Yojimbo's path have two choices: yield or die fighting.
Feudal Training
At 3rd level, You learn one language of your choice, and you gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice:
History, Insight, Performance, or Persuasion.
Additionally, when you make a weapon attack using a longsword, spear, or glaive, you treat the weapon as though it has the finesse property.
Bushido Spirit
At 3rd level, Your intensity in battle numbs you to pain and bolsters your strikes. As a Bonus Action on your turn, you gain an amount of temporary hit points equal to your Fighter Level + your Proficiency bonus, which last until you finish a short or long rest. For instance, if you take this action as a 3rd Level Fighter with a Proficiency bonus of 2, you gain 5 temporary Hit Points. While you have temporary Hit Points in this way, you gain the following benefits:
- You have advantage on attack rolls you make for weapon attacks.
- If you wield no shield, weapon attacks you hit with deal an additional amount of damage equal to your Proficiency bonus.
You can use this feature an amount of times per short or long rest equal to your Proficiency bonus.
Foresight Counter
At 3rd Level, You can instinctively strike before being struck. When you are targeted by an attack, you can use a Reaction to make one weapon attack with advantage against your attacker, provided it is within range. On a hit, the attack made against you is made with disadvantage. If the oncoming attack still hits you, the damage dealt by it is halved.
Discipline Through Honor
At 7th level, Your refined sense of honor bestows upon you, the mastery of many disciplines. You gain the following benefits:
Esteemed Prestige. Through your warrior's education, your philosophical insights, and your rapport with nobility and commoner alike, you have accrued an exemplary reputation. You gain a +1d4 bonus to your Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma checks.
Serene Meditation. Like calm waters, your mind becomes formless when deep in meditation. When you finish a short or long rest, you gain proficiency in your choice between Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throws, if you don't already have it. You are proficient in the selected saving throw until you finish another short or long rest.
Tireless Vigilance. Your spirit endures even when run dry. Whenever you roll initiative, you make it with advantage and you regain 1 expended use of your "Bushido Spirit" feature. If you have no expended uses of "Bushido Spirit" upon rolling initiative, the next use of that feature before your next short or long rest does not expend a use.
Undying Will
At 10th level, Your matchless valor allows you to grit your teeth against all assaults. While you have temporary Hit Points through the use of your "Bushido Spirit" feature, you gain the following additional benefits:
- You gain a +1 bonus to your AC and saving throws while wielding no shield.
- You are immune to the frightened condition.
- If damage from an attack or spell reduces your temporary Hit Points to 0, it is reduced to 1 instead, unless already at 1. Any remaining damage does not harm you and is wasted.
Unrelenting Onslaught
At 15th level, You masterfully strike with precision and speed. When you take the Attack Action on your turn and you have advantage on at least one weapon attack within the action, you can make 1 additional weapon attack with advantage, as part of the same action. If the advantage allowing you to make this additional attack is granted through your "Bushido Spirit" feature, you can make 2 additional weapon attacks with advantage, instead of 1.
Transcendant Might
At 18th level, The strength of your soul increases two-fold, turning you into both an immovable object and an unstoppable force. When you use your "Bushido Spirit" feature, you now gain twice the amount of temporary Hit Points you normally would. If you have these temporary Hit Points while wielding no shield, the damage roll of your weapon attacks are maximized.
