Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

A hooded human, clad in dark plate enscribed with ancient runes, skulks through the shadows. Grabbing a handful of sand, he quickly throws it into the eyes of a neaby guard, using the distraction to knock him out.

Smirking, a finely dressed half-elf leans over and starts whispering arcane envocations into a guard's ear. Enthralled, he fails to notice as her compatriots sneak past.

Noticing a worg lunge at his fellow thief, a cloaked tiefling grasps a grey ribbon, channeling the surrounding shadows to do his bidding and distracts the beast at the last second.

The Thief's Oath is a pledge to serve as a tool to aid your fellow thieves in whatever way possible. A paladin who swears this oath takes it upon themself to remove any inconvienent obstacles through distraction, deception, or manipulation.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed in the Oath of Conquest Spells table. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how oath spells work.

Oath of Conquest Spells

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how Channel Divinity works.

Sand in the Eyes As an action, you force one creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature becomes blinded for 1 minute or until you or your companions do anything harmful to it.

Silver Tongue As an action, you can cast suggestion on one creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you without expending a spell slot. The spell is cast at a level equal to half your paladin's level. Suggestion cast in this manner does not require concentration.

Thief Initiation

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you can choose to become proficient in two of the following; Stealth, Deception, Sleight of Hand, or Thieve's Tools.

During your initiation you learned thieves’ cant, a secret mix of dialect, jargon, and code that allows you to hide messages in seemingly normal conversation.

Aura of Deception

Starting at 7th level, you constantly emanate an aura while you're not incapacitated. The aura extends 10 feet from you in every direction, but not through total cover.

If a creature within the aura cannot see a caster they have disadvantage on Wisdom Saving Throws for spells from that caster.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Uncanny Distraction

Starting at 15th level, whenever a creature you can see successfully hits a target, you can use your reaction to halve the attack's damage.

Master Thief

At 20th level, you can become one with the shadows. Using your action, you undergo a transformation.

For 1 hour, you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain advantage on all stealth, and deception rolls.
  • Whenever you cast a paladin spell that has a casting time of 1 action, you can cast it using a bonus action instead.
  • As an action you can teleport to a location within 30 feet
  • You gain a +10 bonus for any roll utilizing the Thieves Tools

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
