Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

You are connected to the Source of magic that nurtures existence. The Source fuels you to become stronger and drive you to learn more.

Forceful Swings

3rd-level Path of the Source feature

Before you make a reckless attack, you can expend hit dice to increase the damage should the attack hit. You can expend a maximum number of hit die equal to your proficiency bonus on a single attack. If the attack hits, roll a number of d12s equal to the number of hit dice expended and add that to the damage.

Once all of your hit dice are expended, you can continue to use forceful swings by sacrificing health equal to the roll of the d12s.

Well of Power

6th-level Path of the Source feature

As an action, you can expend a number of hit dice to heal a creature you can touch. You can expend a maximum number of hit die equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded down on a single heal.

As an action, you can harness power to propel yourself or other creatures. You can expend hit dice to move a creature within 30 feet in any direction should they fail a strength saving throw equal to your save DC (8+proficiency+wisdom). You can expend a maximum number of hit die equal to half of your proficiency modifier rounded down on a single action.

The Tether

10th-level Path of Wild Magic feature

You may spend the entirety of a short rest in a meditative state, attempting to commune with the Source of your power. If your meditation is uninterrupted, you can recover hit dice equal to half your character level. Additionally, you recieve an answer to a question as if you had cast the spell Augury.

If your meditation is interrupted, you receive a point of exhaustion that cannot be cleansed until you recieve a long rest. You cannot attempt to commune while you are exhausted in this way.

Additionally, you replenish all of your hit dice on a long rest.

Conduit

14th-level Path of the Source feature

You allow the Source to flow through you unabaited, enhancing your abilities.

As an action while you are raging, you can enter this state. It lasts for one minute or until your rage ends, whichever comes first. Once you exit this state, you recieve two points of exhaustion and cannot enter this state again until you complete a long rest.

While in this state, you gain the following benefits:

  • If you roll the highest number on a damage die from your weapon attacks or forceful swings, you can roll that die again.
  • You may expend a number of hit dice equal to your proficiency bonus on either of your Well of Power abilities, rather than only being able to expend half of your proficiency rounded down.
  • Should you fall unconcious in this state, you can choose to take 2 points of exhaustion to resist and instead fall to 1 hit point.
