Path of the Inferno

Using your rage, you are able to tap into the energy that flows through all living things and channel the blaze into something greater. Using the Inferno Overdrive technique, you gain the ability to channel your own life force into a fiery blaze that increases your physical prowess. This technique can stack on top of existing Inferno Overdrives. As a side effect of using this ability, a radius of extreme heat is created around the user, and a portion of the user’s health is drained upon usage.

Turbocharged Strike

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can turbocharge your attacks with the fire from within. If you do so, for the duration of your Inferno Overdrive you can make a single unarmed strike as a bonus action for each level of Inferno Overdrive active. When your overdrive ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion.

Inferno Overdrive

Using the Inferno Overdrive technique, you gain the ability to channel your own life force into a fiery blaze that increases your physical prowess. This technique lasts for 2 minutes, can stack on top of existing Inferno Overdrives additively, and can only be used once per class level. For every stack of Inferno Overdrive, add +1 to your strength modifier. This bonus lasts until all stacks of overdrive are gone. As a side effect of using this ability, a radius of extreme heat is created around the user that deals 1d4 of fire damage per stack of Inferno Overdrive. Upon activation, the user takes 1d4 fire damage. The AOE damage can never put the user below half health, but the damage from the initial activation can.

Controlled Burn

Beginning at 6th level, your surface temperature during an overdrive makes you impossible to touch. You can’t be grappled or restrained  by non-magical means while using Inferno Overdrive. If you are grappled or restrained when you enter your overdrive, the effect is suspended for the duration.

Inferno Maelstrom

Beginning at 10th level, you can use your action to use Inferno Maelstrom. While under the effects of Infernal Overdrive, activating this ability creates a swirling blast of fire from within that deals three times the amount of hitpoints used to fuel it. However, using this ability significantly damages the user and removes all stacks of Infernal Overdrive. In addition, the user gains a point of exhaustion after use.

Regenerative Afterburner

Starting at 14th level, when you take damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of you and are using Inferno Overdrive, you can use your reaction to make a critical melee attack that deals fire damage against that creature. This feature can only be used when below half of your max HP.
