Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Inspired by High Rollers D&D

Your innate magic comes from the colour of life around you. Most often, sorcerers with this origin are born with solid mismatched eyes and an unparalleled ability to see the beauty of the world around them. Some of these sorcerers come form a long line of Pigment Weavers with bloodlines that are well established in the world, but many are obscure.

Chromatic Blessings

At 1st level, you choose your eye colours. You may choose to have matching eyes but it is more rare among Pigment Weavers. The colours chosen will dictate your control of certain damage types. The damage type associated with each solid, chromatic eye is used by features you gain later. Though you can choose any colour, common colour and damage combinations include: orange (acid), blue (cold), red (fire), white (lightning),  black (necrotic), green (poison), purple (psychic), yellow (radiant), and grey (thunder).

Chromatic Blessings

At 1st level, you choose one or, more commonly, two damage types. Your eyes appear solid colours according to each type. The damage type associated is used by features you gain later.

Pigment Enhance

Call on the colours of your world to enhance your chromatic attacks. When you cast a spell of first level or higher which deals damage associated with one of your eye colours you can empower that spell and deal extra damage equal to your sorcerer level + CHA modifier.

Elemental Affinity

Starting at 6th level, when you cast a spell that deals damage of a type associated with your Chromatic Blessing, any ones rolled on your damage dice become twos.

Also, when you cast a spell that deals one of your chromatic blessing damage types, you can spend 1 sorcery point to gain resistance to that damage type for 1 hour.

Colourful Fury

Starting at 14th level, once a day when you cast a spell of 5th-level or lower that deals damage of a type associated with your chromatic blessing, you can deal maximum damage with that spell. You can spend 7 sorcery points to regain this feature and use it again.

Bright Soul

Beginning at 18th level, you can channel the colour and beauty around you, causing those near you to become wreathed in chromatic light. As a bonus action, draw on this power and exude an aura of beauty to a distance of 30 feet. Creatures within that aura of your choosing, including yourself,  are wreathed in multi-pigmented magic for one minute. The effected creatures gain the following abilities:

  • They shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light in an additional 10 foot radius.
  • They have resistance to all chromatic magics (acid, cold, fire, lightning, necrotic, poison, psychic, radiant, thunder) and immunity to your chromatic blessing damage types.
  • If a creature touches them or hits them with a melee attack while within 5 feet they can choose to spend a reaction and attempt to blind the attacker. The attacker must make a CON saving throw against your spell save DC or be blinded until your Bright Soul ability ends or they save against the spell at the end of their subsequent turns.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
