Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

While some paladins hold themselves to ideals such as justice, courage, and honor, other paladins are not satisfied with those goals. For these paladins, only one ideal matters: perfection. While some might consider those who take the Oath of Perfection as prideful, paladins who swear this oath are rarely arrogant. Instead, these paladins seek to constantly improve themselves through practice and dedication. The elegance of a sword swing that perfectly cleaves a demon in two, the beauty of wise counsel that sways the mind of a king, or the ecstasy of seeing a companion triumph over adversity are what bring these paladins joy. Often known as vain knights or knights radiant, those who take the Oath of Perfection strive to always do better tomorrow than they did today.

TENETS OF THE OATH OF PERFECTION

Perfection of Body. Your body must be free of scars and blemishes, and your physique must never falter under any circumstances. Your outward appearance is a reflection of your inner values.

Perfection of Self. You must constantly train to improve your skills until they are without peer. There is no excuse for weakness.

Perfection of Others. Always seek to improve those around you, and encourage others to become better version of themselves. Do not tolerate those who refuse to improve themselves.

Humiliate Your Enemies. Those who seek to challenge perfection must be put in their place. Never forget that you earned your place above the masses through dedication and practice.  Those who strive to take it away from you must be punished.

Know Your Place. Just as your enemies have their place beneath your feet, so you in turn have your place beneath the gods.  Only they are truly perfect, and you must never forget that you are merely an imitation of their perfection.

Channel Divinity

3rd-level Oath of Perfection feature

You gain the following two Channel Divinity options. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how Channel Divinity works.

Invincible Paragon. Your pride and drive to succeed against all odds give you complete control over yourself.  You may use your channel divinity to end any conditions of your choice that are affecting you (no action required).

Flawless Precision. You can use your Channel Divinity as an action to guide your attacks: for 1 minute, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20.

Aura of Perfection

7th- and 18th-level Oath of Perfection feature

Starting at 7th level, failure becomes difficult while within your presence. Whenever you or an allied creature within 10 ft. of you makes an attack roll or ability check, they can roll a d4 and add it to the roll. You and your allies can benefit from this feature only once per turn.

When you reach 18th level in this class, the range of the aura increases to 30 feet.

Shield of Awe

15th-level Oath of Perfection feature

Your presence and flawless grace on the battlefield can shield you from harm. When a hostile creature targets you with an attack, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack. If the attack misses, the attacker takes damage equal to the amount of damage it's attack would have dealt to you.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Flawless Form

20th-level Oath of Perfection feature

You can assume a form of absolute perfection rivaled only by the gods themselves. As an action, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • You are blessed with supernatural grace and beauty, gaining advantage on all Charisma checks.
  • Anytime you or an ally within 30 ft. of you makes an ability check, treat any roll of 9 or lower on the d20 as a 10.
  • At the start of each of your turns, you regain 10 hit points.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a 5th-level spell slot to use it again.
