Melee-range sorcerer

Touch Magic

Starting at 1st level, you can cast any ranged attack spell or cantrip that you know as a melee attack spell with a range of touch.

When you cast a melee spell attack, add your charisma modifier to the damage of that spell.

Additional Spells

1st-level Battle Soul feature

You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Battle Soul Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be from this list or the Sorcerer spell list.

Additional Metamagic Options

The Battle Soul's affinity for close range combat gives you additional metamagic choices:

Shield

You can cast shield as a reaction for 1 sorcery point.

Magical Interference

You can use your magic to create an intimidating aura. You may spend 2 sorcery points to impose disadvantage on any attack taken by a creature within 5 feet of you.

Magical Echoes

Your magical aura leaves traces when you move. You may spend 1 sorcery point to take disengage as a free action.

Soul-linked Spell

When you deal damage with a melee spell attack, you can spend 2 sorcery points to gain temporary HP equal to half the spell's damage (max: 20)

Metamagic Expert

At 6th level, you may choose an additional metamagic option from those granted by the Sorcerer class or by this subclass

Reactive Magical Defense

At 6th level, you develop the magical ability to resist damage. The first time you would take magical damage this round, you gain resistance to that damage type. This lasts until the end of your next turn.

Magic Fuel

At the 14th level, your body is attuned to sources of magical damage. Any time you take damage from a magical source, you regain one sorcery point, up to the maximum granted by your class or any feats.

Raging Soul

At 18th level, you are an overpowering presence on the battlefield. You are able to cast area of effect spells centered on yourself without facing the consequences of those spells. Others had better stay well away.
