Base Class: Bard
The College of Three Forces is the home of bards whose destiny has picked them as heroes and champions. Using their unique combination of battle acumen and strongly focused magic, they are able to not only fend for themselves but also call upon the help of creatures loyal to the cause.
The bards of this college are often seen as odd, both in personality and methods, but none can protest their insurmountable courage and effectiveness in battle. No matter how many times they fall down, no matter how many puzzles and tricks are put in front of them, these bards never back down until they have explored everything and helped everyone they can. The strangest thing about the bards from the College of Three Forces is that even though they are all completely different in age, looks, and status, they are all linked by their need to help others and defeat those who wish to subjugate others through excessive power.
Many of these bards ally themselves with local kingdoms and are oftentimes the personal guards of any princes or princesses, but there are also many cases where they set off on their own, searching for adventure. Although it is rare, there are some bards from this college who turn wicked, and are infamous for their love of destroying property and stealing money and items straight from the homes of innocents.
Sword Beam
When you join the College of Heroes at 3rd level, you gain mastery over weapons. Gain proficiency in one weapon of your choice.
Additionally, while you are at maximum health, you gain the ability to make melee attacks against any creature within 30 ft that is not behind half or total cover.
Enchanted Instrument
At 3rd level, you learn that playing notes in a specific order allow you to cast certain spells freely.
Choose one song to learn:
Companion's Song
You may cast Contact Other Plane without consuming a spell slot once per long rest. When you cast Contact Other Plane this way, you speak to what appears to be a young female elf.
Additionally, you may only roll a DC 12 Intelligence saving throw to determine whether the spell breaks your mind.
Princess's Lullaby
You may cast Sleep without consuming a spell slot three times per long rest.
Song of Sun
You may cast Daylight without spending a spell slot three times per long rest.
Song of the Scarecrow
As an action, you may summon an Awakened Tree anywhere within a 40 ft cylinder around you once per long rest.
A summoned creature disappears when it drops to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
The summoned creature is friendly to you and your companions, but cannot move or attack.
Steed's Song
You may cast Find Steed without consuming a spell slot, but it now requires 1 hour to cast.
Storm's Song
You may cast Gust of Wind without spending a spell slot twice per long rest.
Listening
At 6th level, your mind focuses, augmenting your magic. Your spells no longer require a verbal component to function.
Additionally, you gain a sprite companion. Although it is unable to attack, the sprite is friendly to you and will give you information. While the sprite is alive and following you, gain advantage on Insight checks and the sprite will occasionally give you helpful advice.
If the sprite dies, it is resurrected at the dawn of the next day.
Bottle of Holding
At 14th level, you gain the ability to focus the magic of others into a container.
Once per long rest, as a reaction, whenever someone casts a spell against you, you may roll a Charisma saving throw equal to 8 + the spell's level if it is a projectile that deals damage or a DC Charisma saving throw equal to 4 + the spell's level if it heals. If you succeed your saving throw, you may capture one projectile (if it has one) inside a glass bottle instead of hitting you. In order to trap the spell, you must consume a spell slot of equal level and have an empty glass bottle in your inventory.
Then, as an action, you may choose to open the bottle, releasing whatever was trapped inside. If the spell dealt damage, act as if you had cast the spell, but the DM chooses the target(s). If the spell healed, it heals you for the amount captured.
If you reach a number of hit points equal to your level or lower and have healing stored inside your bottle, it is automatically used as a free action. However, it cannot heal you if you would fall unconscious or be instantly killed by the damage.
