Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

It is said that all planes watch the mortal realm, some with awe, some with envy, and the rest with some level of indifference. Even those creatures whose power lies far beyond that of mortals seem interested in the affairs of the material world. Whatever special quality which lies within mortality and fascinates the rest of the multiverse, there are those who would see it protected and nurtured, and some of them live among the stars, and you are one of them. Possessed of an unbridled curiosity about even the most mundane aspects of the world, you wander among mortals in pursuit of the meaning of such an existence, and with the intent of seeking out and destroying those who would disturb it. For it is the simple deeds of ordinary folk that keep evil at bay, and it is those folk among whom you make your life and hope to protect. Sorcerers of this sort usually have an unhealthy fascination with magic rings. Good aligned sorcerers tend to be unnaturally fond of halflings and wandering do-gooders, while evil aligned sorcerers have often been heard muttering nasty things about trees.

You were born into a mortal form, and you may not have become aware of your odd calling until you hit puberty. You have always had magical ability, and likely understand with great ease those esoteric and overly complex aspects of philosophy and mythology, but struggle to grasp some of the simplest social and cultural nuances. You might have been quite the handful for your parents, and it's up to you whether they were more grateful for the spark of chaos you brought into their lives or for your departure. But regardless of how those around you might see you, they all know of the gift you have for the magical arts, and the potential you have to shape the world.

Star Magic

Starting at 1st level, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Council of Stars Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know. These spells can’t be replaced when you gain a level in this class.

Staff of Wonders

Starting at 1st level, you can conjure a staff which functions as your spell focus. The staff can be wielded as a two-handed weapon doing bludgeoning damage equal to 1d8 + your damage modifier, or an off-hand weapon doing 1d6 bludgeoning damage. When wielding it as a two-handed weapon, you can use your bonus action to attack with the back end of the staff for 1d6 bludgeoning damage.

Explosive Force

Starting at 6th level, once per turn, when you hit with a melee attack using your Staff of Wonders, you can expend a spell slot to push a creature in a direction of your choosing a distance equal to 5 feet times the spell level, up to 15 feet. When expending a spell level above 3rd level, that creature must make a constitution saving throw equal to your spell save + the spell level or be knocked prone.

Blinding Light

Starting at 14th level, when a creature comes within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to spend 3 sorcery points to emit an aura of light. All hostile creatures within 5 feet of you must succeed on a Wisdom Saving Throw equal to your spell save, or be blinded until the end of your next turn. You can use this feature 3 times per long rest.

Spell Defense

Starting at 18th level, once per long rest, you can use your reaction to absorb an enemy spell with your Staff of Wonders. Upon doing so, roll a d20. If the roll is below the spell's level, the staff breaks, and you can't create another one until after you've completed a long rest. If the roll is over the spell's level, the staff is unaffected. If the roll is 15 or higher, the spell caster takes damage equal to 1d4 times your Charisma modifier. If the roll is 19 or 20, the spell caster must make a saving throw equal to your spell save + the spell's level or be blinded until the end of your next turn.
