Base Class: Artificer
An Alchemist is an expert at combining reagents to produce mystical effects. Alchemists use their creations to give life and to leech it away. Alchemy is the oldest of artificer traditions, and its versatility has long been valued during times of war and peace.
Tool Proficiency
You gain proficiency with alchemist’s supplies. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.

Arcane Catalyst
You can create a number of vials of an arcane catalyst equal to your proficiency bonus when you finish a long rest. These vials are reactive to different elements found in common arcane spells. These elements are acid, cold, fire, lighting, thunder, and poison. As a bonus action, you may throw one of these vials at an enemy you can see within 30 feet. The next time that creature takes damage of the type listed above within the next minute, they take an additional 1 d 4 damage of that type. This damage increases by 1 d 4 when you reach 5th level , 11th level , and 17th level . All unused vials become inert at the end of a long rest.
Masterful Brewing can be applied to this ability.
Brewing Savant
You've developed masterful command of magical chemicals, reducing the time and material costs required to make potions. If you craft a potion, it takes you a quarter of the normal time, and it costs you a quarter as much of the usual gold.
Additionally, when you finish a short rest, you regain one use of your arcane catalyst feature.
Masterful Brewing
Whenever a die is rolled for a potion you created, you may replace the number on the die with your proficiency bonus minus one or the maximum result the die can produce, whichever is lower. This feature also applies to the additional damage dealt by your arcane catalyst feature.
I've Got Somethin For That
You have a number of brewing points equal to your proficiency bonus. You can create a number of potions from the artificers potion table (see below) based on their brew cost. As an action, you can create any potion from this table so long as you have the brew points required to do so. You regain expended brew points when you finish a long rest. Potions you create using this feature become inert when you finish a long rest.

Posted Sep 2, 2022An interesting concept for a revised sub class. I always found the original sub class a bit lacking.
