This type of bard constantly changes their performance and strategy, they are sharp and keen to adapt to new situation.

Those hailing from the College of Rubato are taught that performance shouldn't be stationary or repetitive, rather it should be constantly shifting and swaying to keep the audience engaged.  Bards of from this college pride themselves on their ability to change and overcome obstacles in new ways.

You're ability to put yourself in others shoes allows you to tell them what they'd like to hear. When you make a Charisma (Performance) or Charisma (Deception) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Expert Advice

3rd-level College of Rubato feature

You can imbue your fluidity and adaptiveness into an ally. As a bonus action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and choose one creature you can see within 60 ft. Roll the Bardic Inspiration die ({{scalevalue}}). You can share your proficiencies or expertise with the creature for 5 times the number shown on the die minutes, replacing their skills with yours for the duration.

Disruptive Rhythms

6th-level College of Rubato feature

Your ever-changing tempo interferes with your foe's natural rhythm, causing a variety of effects. As a bonus action, after you cast a spell targeting a creature you can roll 1d4 to inflict a random status effect from this spells conditions table onto it. The condition lasts for 1d4 rounds and the creature can roll against your Spell Save DC with the appropriate ability according to the table each round to remove the condition. This feature can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier and the expended uses are replenished after a long rest.

Elemental Entertainment

14th-level College of Rubato feature

When you successfully inspire someone, you fuel them with your adaptive nature allowing them to harness some elemental abilities. When a creature receives your Bardic Inspiration die you choose from the list of elemental types below. On the creatures turn the may choose to add the Bardic Inspiration die to their damage roll, the damage type for this is the same as the previously chosen elemental type. Alternatively, on their turn, the creature can expend the Bardic Inspiration die to gain resistance to that elemental type for half the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die.
