Base Class: Barbarian
Bestial Form
When you take this path at 3rd level, you learn to transform your body into a bestial form while raging. When you rage, you can choose to enter your bestial form. This subclass allows you to become a Werebear, a grappling lycanthrope. They grab their targets, dealing damage to them with their bite and claws. They can hold targets in place, giving their allies advantage on attack rolls.
Additionally, every time you start a rage, you make a wisdom saving throw, and again on the start of each of your turns whilst raging. On failed saves, the DM controls who you attack on your turn. when you pass the saving throw, you regain control of your mind for the rest of the encounter.
Werebear Grip
Werebear Grip. When you perform an Unarmed Strike while raging, you can choose for that attack to be a Bite attack or a Claw attack. Additionally, creatures have disadvantage on opposed Strength (Athletics) checks performed when you attempt to grapple that creature, and creatures provoke opportunity attacks from you when they break free from your grapple.
Unarmed Prowess
Additionally, at 3rd level, you gain the following features:
-
While in your Bestial Form, your Unarmed Strikes deal damage differently depending on what type of attack it is. Bite attacks deal piercing damage and Claw attacks deal slashing damage. You can only make one Bite attack per turn.
-
Your Unarmed Strike damage increases to 1d8 while in your Bestial Form, and increases again to 1d10 at 6th level and 1d12 at 10th level.
-
You cannot wear armour or use a shield while you are in your Bestial Form.
Cursed Attacks
At 6th level, your attacks become infused with the magic of your curse.
Your Unarmed Strikes are considered magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances and immunities to non-magical attacks and damage.
Additionally, the DC for any of your Lycanthrope Strike or Savage Rage abilities is equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Savage Rage
Also at 6th level, you gain an additional feature based on your Lycanthrope type. If you have already used your Lycanthrope Stike ability during your current rage, you can expend one use of your rage to use that effect once again this rage.
Werebear Grapple. Once per rage, when you hit a creature with a Claw attack on your turn, you can use a bonus action to attempt to grapple that target. Bite attacks against a creature you are grappling deal an additional 1d6 damage.
Lycanthrope Signature
At 10th level, you gain an additional feature based on your lycanthrope type.
Werebear Clutch. Once per short rest while raging, if you are grappling a creature, you can use an action to hug the target. The target must succeed a Strength saving throw or become restrained by you. Breaking free from being restrained functions the same as being grappled. While restraining a creature, you cannot make Claw attacks, as your arms are wrapped around the creature you are restraining.
Primal Sense
At 14th level, while raging, you have blindsight out to a range of 30 feet, provided you can smell and hear.
