Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks that follow the Way of the Bestial Spirit focus on harnessing and controlling the guides and teachers of their ancestors in an animal form. They use their martial arts as a way to understand the teachings of their predecessors, and use these teachings to fully embrace the raw, primal power that lurks inside of them.

Spirit Animal

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you learn to manipulate the ki inside yourself to summon the power of your spirit animal. Choose between the Tiger, Crane, and Viper spirit animals. Depending on which you choose, you gain the following benefits:

Crane

At 3rd level, your unarmed strikes gain the reach property.

Crane’s Wings: As a bonus action, you can expend 2 ki points in order to give yourself a flying speed of 40 ft until the end of your next turn. Flying speed increases by 10 ft at 6th, 11th, and 17th level.

Tiger

Your unarmed strikes do an extra 1d4 + proficiency slashing damage (minimum of 1).

Tiger’s Paw: As a bonus action, you can expend 2 ki points to force a creature you just hit with an unarmed to make a Strength saving throw equal to 8 + Wisdom + Proficiency. On a failure, they take 1d6 bludgeoning damage and are pushed 10 x STR (minimum of 1) ft. On a success, damage is halved and the target is not pushed. Damage done by Tiger’s Paw increases by 1d6 at 6th, 11th, and 17th level.

Viper

Your unarmed strikes deal 1d4 + proficiency piercing damage. Damage is doubled when dealt to an opponent that is at least one size category larger than yourself.

Viper’s Fangs. As a bonus action, you can expend 2 ki points to force an enemy you just hit with an unarmed strike to make a CON saving throw equal to 8+ WIS + Proficiency. On a failure, they take 2d4 poison damage and are poisoned for 1 minute. On a success, they take no damage and are not poisoned. Damage done by Viper’s Fangs increases by 2d4 poison damage at 6th, 11th, and 17th level.

Primal Discipline

As a bonus action, you can expend 5 ki points to enter a near-meditative state and become increasingly observant towards your surroundings for 10 minutes. You gain different benefits depending on your spirit animal. You can do this once per long rest.

Crane Feathers

Your concentration allows you to reach bird-like speeds. Your walking speed increases by 10 x your wisdom modifier (minimum of 10ft) for the duration

Tiger Eyes

Your senses have been increased to a cat-like degree. You gain 60 ft of dark vision while Primal Discipline is activated. If you already have darkvision, it is increased by 60 ft for the duration.

Viper Scales

Your focus allows you to gain the agility of a snake. You gain advantage on all dexterity based rolls, besides attack rolls, for the duration.

Predatory Grace

Beginning at 11th level, you learn to use your evasiveness to viciously strike your foes. After an enemy attacks you and misses, you can use your reaction to expend 5 ki points to move up to half of your movement speed without triggering attacks of opportunity and make 1 melee attack. You can do this up to 3 times after the same attack expending an additional 5 ki points each time you wish to do so.

Spiritual Summoning
