Base Class: Monk
Monks who walk the Forgotten Path are a small but crucial collective of diplomats, spymasters, and stories told to children in the night. Their mastery of Omittance gives them the means to dip in and out of civilization at will, letting only those they trust hold onto their memory. Their control of information makes them both feared adversaries and essential allies on the global stage and in the heat of battle.
Way of the Forgotten Features
| Monk Level | Feature |
|---|---|
| 3rd | Discombobulate, Incite Fugue |
| 6th | Lapse of Prowess |
| 11th | Arcane Omittance |
| 17th | Obfuscating Blows |
Discombobulate
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your blows affect the minds of your enemies as well as their bodies. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you gain advantage on Wisdom and Charisma checks against that creature for 1 minute. Additionally, the target's movement speed is reduced by 10 feet for the duration. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the effect ends.
Incite Fugue
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your ki to manipulate the memories of those you encounter, writing yourself out of their minds. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 3 ki points to force the target to make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the target forgets you if they have known you for 1 minute or less. The duration the target can know you before this ability cannot be used on them increases to 10 minutes at 6th level, 1 hour at 11th level, and 24 hours at 17th level.
Lapse of Prowess
At 6th level, your ki can temporarily shut out an enemy's memories of training, making them easier to fight. Whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can spend a ki point attempting to create a lapse of prowess, forcing the target to make Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the target subtracts your proficiency bonus from your choice of either their attack rolls or saving throws for 1 minute. A creature can be affected by this ability twice at a time if the two strikes target different rolls. At 17th level, this ability targets both attack rolls and saving throws in the same attack.
Arcane Omittance
At 11th level, you learn to carve into the Arcane Weave, detaching spells from their casters. As a reaction when a creature within 30 feet of you casts a spell, you can force that creature to make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, you teleport to a space within 5 feet of them and they lose access to that spell until they complete a short rest. If they fail the save by 5 or more, the spell also fails immediately.
Obfuscating Blows
At 17th level, your attacks become infused with fugue essence. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, that creature has disadvantage on attack rolls made against you and you have advantage on saving throws the target imposes on you until the start of your next turn.
