Base Class: Artificer
You channel your magic into the food that you create. This food can empower allies, while enemies are taunted by the aromas, allowing you to cause disorientation and even harm to those that are unable to taste your magnificent feasts.
Create snacks to enhance allies during battle. Use cooking techniques on the battlefield.
Culinary Training
3rd-level Chef feature
Gain proficiency with Warhammer. You gain proficiency with cook's utensils. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.
You can add your proficiency bonus to all checks that have to do with food, such as determining ingredients in something, how best to create or build a dish, and other checks (determined by your DM).
Chef Spells
3rd-level Chef feature
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Alchemist Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Snack Time
3rd-level Chef feature
You are always happy to share your creations with your allies. When you finish a short or long rest you can make a number of snacks equal to your proficiency bonus. You must have or forage for ingredients. Food created by magic, such as goodberry, can be used to make snacks. Snacks made do not need to be of the same flavor. These snacks can be given to other people and can be consumed as a bonus action. These snacks stay fresh until you finish a long rest, after which they are still edible, but no longer bestow any benefits. Choose the flavor of the snacks from the options below.
- Spicy: Until the end of your turn, when you hit with a melee or ranged attack, you have +1 to damage rolls.
- Sweet: Until the start of your next turn, gain a +2 bonus to AC.
- Salty: Until the start of your next turn, when a creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature.
You can make quick snacks with what you have in your bags. Food created by magic, such as goodberry, can be used to make snacks. You can spend a minute making a treat that when given to a humanoid will cause them to see you and your party as trustworthy. For the next minute after they eat it, your party has advantage on any ability checks to interact socially with the creature. A creature immune to charm is unaffected. This snack stays fresh for 10 minutes, after which it is still edible, but no longer has any other effects. You can make a number of snacks equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Overcooked
3rd-level Chef feature
Sometimes even the professional still makes a mistake. Once per day, as an action using your cook's utensils, you can create an acrid smoke in a 15-foot radius around you.
This smoke does not move with you and can go around corners. For one minute, any creature other than you who starts their turn in the smoke must make a constitution saving throw.
Companions who have eaten some of your food have advantage on the save. On a save, they suffer no effects and are immune to the smoke for 24 hours. On a failed save the creature can't overcome the terrible smell, coughing and eyes watering. For the next minute they have disadvantage on attack rolls.
At the start of their turn, they can try to save again, they have advantage if they are no longer in the smoke. If they stay out of the smoke for 2 turns, they automatically save. A wind of moderate speed can disperse the smoke.
Extra Attack
5th-level Chef feature
You can attack twice, rather than once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Flambé
9th-level Chef feature
You have figured out how to bring this fiery cooking technique to battle. As a bonus action you can ignite your weapon. For the next minute when you hit with a weapon attack you can deal an additional 1d8 fire damage. You can't ignite your weapon again using this feature until you finish a long rest.
You have handled hot pots and pans through much of your training. This has allowed your hands to become protected against heat. You do not suffer the effects of someone casting heat metal on your weapon or shield.
Growing Cookbook
9th-level Chef feature
You have been able to add some recipes to you snacks. When you use the Snack Time feature, you can choose to from additional flavors.
- Sour: Until the start of your next turn you have resistance to all damage.
- Umami: You can teleport to an unoccupied space that you can see within 30 feet.
You have also figured out another quick treat to make. You can spend a minute making a treat that when given to a humanoid makes it harder for them to detect and tell lies. For the next minute after they eat it, they have disadvantage on Charisma (Deception) and Wisdom (Insight) checks. A creature immune to charm is unaffected. This snack stays fresh for 30 minutes, after which it is still edible, but no longer has any other effects. You can make a number of snacks equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
When someone eats a snack you made using food created by a spell such as goodberry or create food and water they will also have advantage on attack rolls until the start of their next turn.
Signature Dish
15th-level Chef feature
Your mastery of your culinary arts has granted you and your party extra benefits.
- Once per day, you can cast Heroes' Feast. This still requires that you have the material components.
- Anyone who is under the effects of your Heroes’ Feast or eats one of your Snacks will succeed against Overcooked for the next 24 hours.
- You have perfected your recipes, when someone eats one of your Snacks, they also gain temporary hit points equal to your artificer level.
