Monk
Base Class: Monk

Not all monks sit in monasteries and practice. Some believe that they can come closer to the truth of ki by experiencing it first hand, in the natural state of all things. As such, you have explored much of the world, and have developed many techniques and practices to survive in the harshest environments and get around with ease.

Seasoned Nomad

You have spent much of your life on the move, exploring the unknown places of the world. When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain proficiency in the Nature and Survival skills if you don’t already have it. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of those proficiencies.
  • You gain proficiency with Vehicles (Land and Water), as well as Navigator’s Tools.
  • Whenever you use Step of the Wind, you ignore difficult terrain.
  • You always know which way is North.

Favour of the Wind

At 3rd level, you can use your ki to tap into the moving gale, using it to push and pull the creatures around you. When a creature other than you begins to move within 30 feet of you, you can use your reaction to grant that creature the benefits of your Step of the Wind feature, using ki points as normal.

Gift of Travel

Starting at 6th level, you become hardier and more resistant to the perils of the wildlands. You have advantage on saving throws against exhaustion. In addition, when you finish a long rest, you can choose a climate. You gain the benefits associated with that climate until you finish a long rest.

Arctic. You gain resistance to cold damage, and you can tolerate temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius without any additional protection. If you wear heavy clothes, you can tolerate temperatures as low as -50 degrees Celsius.

Desert. You gain resistance to fire damage, and you can tolerate temperatures as high as 30 degrees Celsius without any additional protection. If you wear light clothes, you can tolerate temperatures as high as 50 degrees Celsius.

Forest. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by natural phenomena, you have advantage on saving throws against plants that are magically controlled or created to impede movement, you can move stealthily at a normal pace while travelling.

Mountain. You gain resistance to lightning damage, and you ignore drawbacks caused by high altitude up to 30,000 feet. You have advantage to resist effects caused by strong winds, magical or otherwise.

Underdark. You gain resistance to acid damage, and you have darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision, its range increases by 30ft.

Gathering Steps

At 11th level, you can tap into your ki and blur into the wind, vanishing and reappearing at will. You can spend 5 ki points to cast the Far Step spell.

Accomplished Traveller

Also at 11th level, your meanderings have taken you to many places, and you have gained both durability and wisdom on your travels. You remove one point of exhaustion when you finish a short rest, and you regain one additional expended hit die when you finish a long rest. In addition, you gain proficiency in Insight, and you can add twice your proficiency bonus to checks you make with that skill.

Distant Stride

At 17th level, you can cast the Teleport spell without expending a spell slot. You are on target if possible. Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
