Base Class: Fighter
The champion subclass revised. It was falling behind. This adds a few features to increase its impact in combat.
Additional Fighting Style
At 3rd level, you can choose a second option from the Fighting Style class feature.
This feature actually gives you a feat selection. It is intended that you choose the Fighting Initiate feat found in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything (TCE)--be sure to only choose the Fighting Initiate feat.
Superior Critical
Starting at 3rd level, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19–20. This critical hit range increases to 18-20 when you reach 13th level in this class.
Remarkable Attacks
At 7th level, if you have advantage on a weapon attack roll, then you also have advantage on the damage roll.
Champion Fighting Style
At 10th level, you can choose one of the following options from the Champion Fighting Style list:
Brutish Attacks
Once per turn when you deal damage with an attack, you can add an amount of damage to your damage roll equal to half your level in this class.
Desperate Attacks
When you use the attack action on your turn you can make an additional, extra attack, once per turn, when under the following conditions:
- When an allied creature that you can see is dead or unconscious, or;
- When you are: restrained, blinded, poisoned, diseased, or frightened.
Magical Attacks
All your attacks are magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances. When you deal damage with a weapon attack, you can alter the damage type of your attack to become force damage.
Exhausting Critical
At 15th level, once per long rest you can guarantee yourself one critical hit on any attack roll you make, at the cost of one point of exhaustion. In order to use this feature, you cannot have disadvantage on the attack roll.
Whenever you use this feature to guarantee a critical hit, you may choose to also roll a d100--at the cost of an additional point of exhaustion. You may add the result of this d100 roll to your attack's damage roll. This additional d100 damage is not doubled and this d100 should ignore all standard critical hit rules, unless your DM rules otherwise. If your attack roll originally had advantage, you have advantage on this d100 roll.
Survivor
At 18th level, you attain the pinnacle of resilience in battle. At the start of each of your turns, you regain hit points equal to 5 + your Constitution modifier if you have no more than half of your hit points left. You don’t gain this benefit if you have 0 hit points.
In addition, your Second Wind class feature now restores 10 health + your fighter level.

Posted Mar 12, 2024The 15th-level feature seems punishing for no reason. Exhaustion takes a long rest to remove one level of exhaustion, and in one turn you can gain two levels. That's almost half a day gone in six seconds. I like the feature of guaranteeing one critical attack, but a d100 is just too big of a range. Like you have an equal chance to get a 12 as you are to get an 89. I would instead make the d100 into 2-3d20s, so that way you can have a shorter but more consistent range of damage. And including d20s lets you upgrade this feature as you level up, like the damage increases by 1d20 every other level after 15th-level.
I like the new fighting styles specific to the Champion, the only complaint is that Magic Attacks seem to clash with the general anti-magical nature of the fighter, especially the Champion. I would change nothing about the magic fighting style except the name, something like "Magic Slayer" or "Glyph Ceaser".
