Base Class: Barbarian
In essence, only one has been known to go down this path; Oliver Patelle practically founded the Path of the Tax Collector, for he himself had once been an ordinary tax collector before he became a barbarian. Tax Collector Barbarians focus on taking money and empowering themselves with this money, and oftentimes have a hard time resisting the urge to collect taxes, for it can be detrimental for their mental health.
Desire for Wealth
When you choose this path at 3rd level, as an action at the start of your turn, you must make a DC 20 wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, all attacks you make have advantage, but deal half as much damage, and on a successful one, all of your attacks have disadvantage, but get critical hits on rolls equal to or above this abilities saving throw - 1. On a failed save, all currency upon the body of a creature slain by you immediately vanishes, while on a successful one, you gain all gold that creature has, or as much gold as that creature might be worth dead if it has no currency on it (GM's discretion).
You can only use this trait per short rest as many times equal to your proficiency bonus. The DC decreases by 4 at 7th level (16), then by 3 at 11th level (13), before finally decreasing by 3 at 15th level (10).
Rage of the Indebted
At 6th level, while you're raging, all attacks you make deal additional necrotic damage equal to half of your level rounded down as gold spreads up the body of your target. If you slay a creature while you're raging, it is petrified in gold for 1 round before exploding into a pile of gold equal to that creatures HP.
Trickery of Taxes
At 10th level, you can cast Charm Person as a bonus action or reaction.
Coin Defense
At 10th level you gain a +2 bonus to your armor class, and you gain 2 additional hit points per level.
Strike of the Bank
At 14th level, you can get rid of half of either your currency or your hit points as a bonus action to make all of your attacks until the end of your next turn deal twice as much damage. You can use this as many times per long rest equal to your strength modifier.
Extra Attacks
Beginning at 14th level, you can attack four times, instead of twice, whenever you take the attack action on your turn.
