Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Though I do what I must for my party, our quests, and our overall wellbeing... my main focus in life is to stamp out the crime that society has decided to ignore.

Oath Spells

Each oath has a list of associated spells. You gain access to these spells at the levels specified in the oath description. Once you gain access to an oath spell, you always have it prepared. Oath spells don't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day.

If you gain an oath spell that doesn't appear on the paladin spell list, the spell is nonetheless a paladin spell for you.

* Your "Disguise Self" spell has an additional feature: You have a secret identity, which you can assume using the Disguise Self spell without using a spell slot, and which lasts up to 8 hours.

Detective

When you take this oath at 3rd level you gain proficiency in Wisdom(Perception) and Intelligence(Investigation) if you are not already proficient.

Channel Divinity

Your oath allows you to channel divine energy to fuel magical effects. Each Channel Divinity option provided by your oath explains how to use it. When you use your Channel Divinity, you choose which option to use. You must then finish a short or long rest to use your Channel Divinity again. Some Channel Divinity effects require saving throws. When you use such an effect from this class, the DC equals your paladin spell save DC.

Channel Divinity: Put Down

As an action, and using up to twice your movement, you rush around the battlefield "putting Down" your foes. Any enemy you can reach must succeed on a Constitution Saving Throw or be stunned until the end of your next turn. An enemy that succeeds is still subject to a contested shove attack to be knocked prone. Any enemy able to make reactions may make an opportunity attack (when triggered as normal) without using their reaction, they can make this attack multiple times if triggered.

Channel Divinity: Deductive Reasoning

As a bonus action, you can make logical deductions about your surroundings. You may make a Wisdom (Perception) or Intelligence (Investigation) check at advantage and with expertise even if you are not proficient. If you already have expertise in the check you choose to make, you gain "Reliable Talent" for that 1 check. If you are in combat when you make this check, you can choose to focus on your closest foe instead of your surroundings. Doing so grants you advantage on all attacks against that enemy and causes them to have disadvantage on all attacks against you. This effect lasts until the start of your next turn.

Aura of Dedication

Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 15 feet of you can't be frightened while you are conscious, and you can't be charmed.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Focused Strike

Starting at 15th level, you can sacrifice the additional attack granted by your Extra Attack feature to use Divine Smite without expending a spell slot. This Divine Smite acts as a 2nd level slot (3d8) but does NOT receive the bonus to undead or a fiend targets.

You also gain a second use of your Channel Divinity between rests.

Quick Justice

At 20th level, your presence on the field of battle is difficult for your foes to track, and emboldening to your allies.

  • After each attack you make (whether you hit or miss), you can Misty Step at will as a free action without components. When you do so, you can make a Dexterity(Stealth) check. Any enemy whose passive perception is less than your check has disadvantage on their first attack against you.
  • Any ally who has been within range of your Aura of Dedication this turn, may continue to benefit from it until the start of your next turn, even if they are out of its radius.
