Base Class: Monk
After years of study, you have developed (or apprenticed someone who developed) a hybrid fighting style influenced by Sun Soul and Ascendent Dragon practitioners. Students of this discipline learn to channel the radiant ki of celestial dragons.
Dragon Light
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, You can also channel the dragon’s burning radiant energy, gaining the following benefits:
- When you damage a target with an unarmed strike, you can change the damage type to fire or radiant.
- You can fire bolts of radiant dragon fire, a ranged attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a 30 foot range. You have proficiency with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is 1d4 of fire or radiant (your choice). This attack is considered a monk weapon and the die increases as you gain levels in this class. (See the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.) When you take the Attack action on your turn and use this special attack as part of it, you can spend 1 ki point to make the special attack two additional times as a bonus action. When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action.
- If you can’t already, you learn to speak, read, and write Draconic.
Dragon Step
Using bursts of draconic energy, you can propel yourself through the air.
Starting at 6th level, when you use your Step of the Wind, you can gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed until the end of your current turn. This benefit works only in short bursts; you fall if you end your turn in the air and nothing else is holding you aloft.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. While you have no uses available, you can spend 1 additional ki point when you activate Step of the Wind to use this feature again.
Dragon Blast
At 11th level, you can channel your ki into bursts of radiant fire. As an action, you can release a blast of draconic energy in either a 30-foot cone or a 40-foot line that is 5 feet wide (your choice). Choose a damage type: fire or radiant. Each creature in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw against your ki save DC, taking damage of the chosen type equal to two rolls of your martial arts die on a failure, or half as much damage on a success.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. While you have no uses available, you can spend 1 ki point to use this feature again. You can increase the attack's damage by spending additional ki points. Each point you spend, to a maximum equal to your proficiency bonus, increases the damage by 1 roll of your martial arts die.
Dragon Master
At 17th level, the ki of the Radiant Dragon and your own become one. As a bonus action, flaming radiance covers your entire body and lasts for 1 minute or until you are knocked unconscious, killed, or extinguish it as a bonus action. While transformed in this way, you gain the following benefits:
- When you damage a creature with your Dragon Bolts, the creature must succeed on a CON saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away from you or be knocked prone (your choice). You can only effect each creature in this way once per turn.
- When you damage a creature with your Dragon Blast, the energy clings to the target. At the start of each of the creature’s turns, it takes damage of the type your breath dealt equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die. At the end of its turn, the creature can repeat the save, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Once you have used this feature, you cannot do so again until after completing a long rest.
