Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Some barbarians are driven mad by the life they lead. The horrors of war, or the death of a loved one... something has triggered an unquenchable desire to maim. A barbarian following the Path of the Maniac not only revels in the blood of their enemies, they have an insatiable urge to kill. To rip the life from their enemies is to bring peace to the echoing voices in their head. They embrace the pain of their existence to deal it ten-fold on their enemies.

Thrill of the Kill

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can drain the life force from a slain enemy. Any overkill damage you inflict on a creature with a melee weapon attack (damage that is over and above what is needed to kill a target) is returned to you as health, to a maximum of 30 hit points.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Rampage

Beginning at 6th level, you can go into a rampage when you are raging as a bonus. If you do so, for the duration of your rage you can add +5 to any melee weapon attacks. With each attack action, the DM rolls a percentile die. On a 10% or less roll, the attack automatically fails and half of the damage is dealt to you. If you damage yourself during a rampage, you are considered stunned for the duration of the round. The DC increases by 5% for every turn you are actively rampaging. The DC maximum is 25%. When your rampage ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion.

Embrace the Pain

Beginning at 10th level, you can use your personal pain to inflict damage on your foes. When your hit points drop lower than 20 hit points, you can add an additional damage die. If your hit points are lower than 10, you can add two additional weapon damage dice. This effect can be used until your hit points are restored above 20.

Release the Beast

Starting at 14th level, you can go into a frenzied rampage. If you do so, for the duration of your rampage you can make a single melee weapon attack as a bonus action on each of your turns after this one.
