Base Class: Paladin
The Oath of the Bow grants you access to Ranged Divine Smites. With this power you can create your own oath weapon to aid you in smiting down those who stand before you, whether it be man, woman, beast or child, you will get to your quarry if it is the last thing that you ever do.
Divine Ranged Smite
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to use your Divine Smite on your ranged weapon attacks. However, if you do you use a d6 rather then a d8.
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain access to the following Channel Divinity options:
Divine Piercing Shot. You can use your channel divinity to decimate your opponents with the holy light of your weapon. When you make a ranged weapon attack, instead of making an attack roll, you instead create a holy beam of light 30ft by 5ft that shoots forwards from your weapon passing harmlessly through objects and ignoring all cover. All creatures within this line must make a Dexterity Saving Throw. On a failed save they take damage as if they where hit by your weapon plus an additional 2d6 radiant damage. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage.
Power of the Oath. You can use your Channel Divinity to enchant your weapon with the power of your oath. You can spend 1 hour performing a ritual to turn one simple ranged weapon, martial ranged weapon, or one weapon with the thrown property into an Oath Weapon. You can only have one oath weapon at a time. If you would perform the ritual to create a new oath weapon while the previous one still exists or if you die, the previous oath weapon disintegrates. An oath weapon created this way gains the following benefits:
- When you prepare the weapon to attack, it whispers in elvish "Swift defeat to my enemies." When you use this weapon to make a ranged attack you can, as a Command phrase, say, "Swift death to you who have wronged me." The target of your Attack becomes your Sworn Enemy until it dies or until dawn seven days later. You can have only one such Sworn Enemy at a time. When your Sworn Enemy dies, you can choose a new one after the next dawn.
- When you make a ranged Attack roll with this weapon against your Sworn Enemy, you have advantage on the roll. In addition, your target gains no benefit from cover, other than total cover, and you suffer no disadvantage due to long range. If the Attack hits, your Sworn Enemy takes an extra 2d6 piercing damage. This damage increase to 3d6 at 15th Level.
- While your Sworn Enemy Lives, you have disadvantage on all other attack rolls.
- If an oath weapon has the thrown property, after you have made your ranged attack, the weapon returns to your hand, whether you hit or miss.
Aura of Swift Flight
At 7th Level, all creatures within 10ft of you (including yourself) gain an attack bonus equal to your Charisma Modifier to their ranged weapon attacks. At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30ft.
Holy Aim
At 15th Level, You can use your oath's power to instill holy justice into your ranged weapons. When you make a ranged weapon attack against a creature, you can use your bonus action to maximize any damage dealt by that attack. This effect is wasted if you miss your attack. You can only use this effect once per long rest.
Otherworldy Aim
At 20th Level, you can take on the form of perfect and ultimate accuracy. Once per long rest, you can use your bonus action to transform into a holy figure of accuracy for 10 minutes. While under this transformation you gain the following benefits:
- You gain advantage on all ranged weapon attack rolls.
- Your ranged weapon attacks score a critical hit on a 19 or a 20 on the d20.
- For as long as you remain transformed, any creature that you hit with a ranged weapon attack has their movement speed halved and has disadvantage on all attack rolls.
