Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Warlords are those who have risen to their positions by their own determination, and traditionally they carry a sword and shield. These warriors can use their fury to become an impenetrable fortress on the battlefield and protect their allies. The only thing stronger than their defense is their will.

Sword and Shield Mastery

Warlords traditionally wield the sword and shield as their weapons of choice, and as such are highly skilled with them. At 3rd level, when you use a shield, you gain a bonus of +1 to AC and when you use a shortsword or longsword in your main hand.

In addition, your fighting style hinges upon the cohesive use of both your sword and shield, and both can be used as a weapon. At 3rd level, when you choose this path, your shield is considered an offhand weapon to you. The damage dice for this weapon is 1d4, and it deals bludgeoning damage. This increases to 1d6 when you reach 10th level

Strength and Perseverance

The strength of a warlord's will is that of legend. When you reach 6th level, you gain proficiency in Wisdom and Charisma saving throws.

Additionally, once while you are raging, you may emit a Battle Cry, boosting the resolve of your nearby allies. Once per rage, you may at the start of your turn choose any number of creatures that can see or hear you within 30 feet. Those creatures gain a bonus to attack rolls equal to your Charisma Modifier until the start of your next turn.

Ramming Charge

At 10th level, as an Action, you can push a creature within 5ft of you with your shield. You must first succeed on a Strength (Athletics) check and the creature is grappled. The target of your Ramming Charge must be no more than one size larger than you. If successful, the creature is grappled, and you move in a straight line along with your target for up to the remainder of your movement, at the end of which you can choose to drop your target in any open space within 5 ft. of you. If you attempt to push your target into a wall or similar impassable terrain, the creature must make a Constitution saving throw or be stunned.

Break Upon the Rock

At 14th level you become a powerful defender, and can use your shield to deflect attacks one would not think possible. When you are wielding a shield and you are targeted by a successful attack, or fail a Dexterity saving throw to avoid a damaging effect, you can use your reaction to negate any and all damage you would take. This effect can also be applied instead to another creature within 5 ft. of you.

You have three uses of this feature. All uses are regained when taking a long rest.
